"The work was performed in December 2012. The City of Austin came out and inspected the windows in March 2013 and found that a window in each bedroom in the house did not meet code in terms of the egress requirements. Essentially, a window in each bedroom had to be a casement window rather than a hung window. Clear Choice talked to the City inspection staff in April 2013 to try to allow them to grandfather our windows to be compliant with City code. The City refused to allow any grandfathering. Clear Choice came back and told us we would have to pay for the casement windows in order to be compliant with City code. They were fairly unresponsive for the better part of 2013, but the situation did finally get resolved in Spring 2014. They swapped out the hung windows for casement windows without any additional charges. "
