They must post their own positive reviews. They took my $65.00 fee and did nothing"

Stains penetrate wood best when it's cool and dry, so you want to avoid moisture. If the wood is wet upon application, or if it rains before the stain dries, the water will soak into the wood and displace the staining solution. Allow the wood to dry out before painting it, as pressure-treated wood from the hardware store takes longer to dry than kiln-dried lumber. If water beads on the surface, it needs additional time to dry—in fact, it can take weeks or even months to fully dry. As soon as the wood absorbs water on the surface, it is ready to be painted or stained.

You should treat your deck with stain or sealer every two to three years to ensure it stays durable and protected from the elements. If you have a painted deck, we suggest repainting it every 10 years. You should clean your deck annually and inspect it for loose or damaged boards, screws, and nails. By maintaining your wood deck, you ensure its longevity, durability, and appearance.

Provided conditions are ideal, staining an entire deck should take as little as a couple of hours and up to a couple of days to apply and cure. Additional procedures, like sealing a deck or using additional treatments, may extend the project by a few additional days.
