Gates are still working just like they did when they where first installed over 7 years ago.
We had a misunderstanding on width of the gates after the post where already installed and they didn't dispute it they just made it right.
I would use them again and also recommend them.
I plan on calling them soon for fencing.
The crew came a few days after I accepted the quote. The crew worked hard and carefully and accurately. They made sure everything was the way I wanted it and to my expectations. I was given several opportunities to ask questions or clarification.
The fence and gates are perfect and fit the needs of me and my large dogs perfectly. I recommend T-Bar Fence for your fencing needs.
The electric driveway gate turned out to be unrepairable since no parts are available for it. The gate person came out three times and did his best to get the gate to work properly all for $89.
All calls to this company were answered by an office person and promptly returned by the appropriate person.
The fence looks great!
"(member name removed)’s fence was built in October 2008 by T-Bar Fence, Inc. for Centex Homes. The fence was built pursuant to Centex Homes’ specifications, inspected and approved by both the City of San Antonio and Centex Homes, and paid for by Centex Homes. The fence is now almost 5 years old, and this is the first we have ever heard from (member name removed). T-Bar maintains meticulous records of customer calls, and can find no record of a call from (member name removed), Centex Homes, or anyone at his address. T-Bar does however, have a record of calls from neighbors in his area for miscellaneous fence warranty claims – all of which were honored and responded to. (member name removed)'s claim that he contacted T-Bar and was told we were either out of business or bankrupt is a mystery to T-Bar. T-Bar Fence has never gone out of business, never filed bankruptcy, and has honored all warranty claims. (member name removed) now appears to claim the fence on his property was incorrectly installed in 2008. We are unaware of the standard he claims was breached. To the contrary, the fence was properly installed pursuant to the specifications of Centex Homes. T-Bar has always honored its warranty, and as with (member name removed), had he contacted T-Bar for warranty service during the warranty period, any such proper claim would have been honored. Now, being 5 years later, and 4 years out of warranty, there is nothing for T-Bar to do. T-Bar is unaware of the conditions, modifications, or other matters which could have occurred to impact the fence. A claim such as (member name removed) for a fence 4 years out of warranty is not reasonable. Important to note is the fact that (member name removed) has specifically threatened to attack T-Bar in social media with the specific plan of harming T-Bar’s reputation, because he believes his claim for service on a 5 year old, 4 year out of warranty fence should be repaired or worked on for free. In fact, his stated goal is to “destroy” T-Bar’s business if T-Bar does not do what he requires. T-Bar will not stand for such extortion, and we would hope the BBB would not either. T-Bar has retained legal counsel to deal with (member name removed)'s defamatory threats, and intends to address them through legal processes as applicable. The facts are clear: T-Bar built the fence in October 2008 with a one year warranty per the Centex Homes specifications. T-Bar has consistently honored its warranties for all the fences it built for Centex Homes. T-Bar fence is not out of business; has not gone out of business; has not filed bankruptcy; and continues to build fences and honor its warranties. (member name removed)'s fence is 4 years beyond its one year warranty time frame, and his claims for repair to a 5 year old fence are not the obligation of T-Bar Fence, Inc. (member name removed) should contact the builder from whom he bought the home, and discuss with them the warranty and installed specifications of which he now complains. (member name removed)'s overt threats to defame T-Bar, and his stated intent to harm or as he put it to T-Bar “destroy” T-Bar’s business are evidence of his true lack of reasonableness and unscrupulous intent. If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact me. Respectfully, Mark E Spradlin President, T-Bar Fence, INC"
I do not know how competative the price was. (We did not get another quote.)
I am happy with the quality of the fence and the installation. I would recommend them to others.
UPDATE (July 6, 2012): A little over one year after the fence was installed, I called to have a gate repair. They repaired it free of charge, but told me that any future repairs would not be free. I guess I expected the gate to last as long as the fence, not just a year. As stated above, the gates started experiencing problems within 2 years of install, After 3.5 years, the wood on the gate panel split, and the metal hardware broke (spring to the handle fell out). The quality of the 2 gates was poor. I did not call them because I did not want to have to pay for repairs on the gates.
I called them in May of this year because I needed an additional short fence (to enclose my A/C unit) plus my original fence re-stained. I called them because I thought they would give me a real good price, being an existing customer. However, their price was much higher than another Angie's List company (Watauga Fence). Unlike T-Bar Fence, Watauga Fence guarantees their gates for as long as I own it.
"I was confused by the customers' comments, because the same day he filed this report he called our office to ask for another quote. The salesperson handling the area called him and scheduled an appointment for the next day. During the appointment our salesperson was asked to give the customer a quote for new fence work in the amount of $1,100.00. At the end of the appointment, our salesman ask Mr Tannenbaum why he would call us again after filling out this report on Angie's List the same day. Confused and embarrassed the customer was surprised we knew and gave no explaination. The salesman then explained to the customer if he had problems he should have called to ask for a repair. While we only give a 1 year warranty on our fences, we will always try and work with a customer. The current quote for $1,100.00 is pending a final decision by this customer."
