At the time he came out and gave me a quote I think there was one person who quotes me lower, but I went with Nick because he took his time to go over options with me, he was easy to talk To and you could tell the passion he has for his work. Nick provided me with a color booklet thing which I swear had over 7,000 options but it was very helpful and beneficial to pick our colors by having them all with you. Nick was able to start within two days of the quote. Him and his team worked quickly, three and a half days for the wall, ceilings and trim of a apprx 1,700 sq ft home. With materials and labor it was about 4,600 (with every penny) Every day I came back to the house I loved how Nick and his team respected my house by cleaning up after themselves and not leaving a mess. They took all of my window rods and closest racks down and placed them back without being able to tell they were even removed in the first place. There’s so stray paint anywhere, I’ve had houses painted where there’s paint left on tops of cabinets, a little on baseboards, so forth and so on, not a issue with Nick and his team. I was just moving into the house and had a busy work schedule so I left my spare key with Nick and was able to feel comfortable by the process. "The paint crew came in on time, prepped the walls, covered the floors and painted the walls with a primary coat, then painted the walls with two coats of paint. They cleaned up after the job and were professional throughout the process. I would recommend them to anyone."

"The initial job was performed very well. The contractor listened to our concerns (that the new material match the existing material and that the appropriate steps be taken so that the wood being replaced woul not rot again like it did in the first place). Also, we had gotten bids on the same work before which seemed significantly over-priced; Southern Painting's bid was much lower and more in-line with what we thought the job would cost. The work was excellent, and the cost matched the estimate.
But then...
About a month after the work, we thought we could hear water running, but could not determine where. After a few more weeks a wet spot developed outside the house where the siding had been replaced. Initially, we thought maybe a sprinkler line had been cracked during the siding work, but the sprinkler repairman informed us that the water was coming from inside the house. We contacted a plumber and Southern Painting and both parties met at our house on the same day. Southern Painting had pulled off the bottom siding board prior to the plumber arriving and - sure enough - one of the last nails shot to secure the last piece of siding had pierced a copper water line, just above the foundation. Southern Painting immediately took responsibility for the problem and told the plumber to bill their company for the repair. The plumber (who we called) fixed the problem and (after a few days to dry-out) repalced the siding, and it looked as good as new.
But then...
We began to detect a moldy smell in the kitchen (right on the other side of the wall where the leak had been). We contacted Southern Painting (again) and they cam right out. Two cabinets had to be removed (inculding the one housing the built-in microwave and regular oven) and, sure enough, water had gotten in to be base of the cabinet and wicked up the drywall about three feet. Southern Painting took the cabinets and had them repaired (better than new - the particle board was replaced with plywood) replaced and floated the affected drywall, and got the cabinets (and oven) reinstalled in time for Thanksgiving. While we were inconvenienced, we were not charged for any of this work.
I have no doubt Southern Painting lost money on this job, but they won a customer because they did the right thing. Stuff goes wrong - that's just life. But when a person or company steps up and makes it right, they earn my respect. When I have the entire house painted (in a year or two), this is the company I will call.

"Daniel plus his crew of three arrived promptly each day and worked solid through each day from 7:45 until 5:30 taking about 30-45 min. for lunch.  The crew were never standing around waiting for instructions--they knew their jobs and were always busy getting it done.  Because of this what could have taken about 5 days only took 3 and a half days!  Quality of the work was excellent.   Maybe more important than the diligence and quality of work was the effort and care that was taken to prep and then clean my house and furnishing both before and after the work was complete.  (Remember that texture removal and application is very messy and leaves a powdery dust on nearly everything.)  They took such care that my home looked like a scene from "Dexter"(from Netflix) with every room and object covered in plastic.
 Yes this was an excellent experience.  As far as price--I received another quote from an Angie's List (top ten) provider that was nearly twice as much--FYI.

"I got estimates from several painters but chose Mr. Van de Walle because he uses a sprayer rather than rollers and brushes to give a very professional finish. My house had not been painted for many years, boards were rotting in some areas, and the paint had chipped off completely in other areas. "After my initial 99.00 painting for 1 room, I asked Mr. Ramirez for an estimate to paint my 2 bathrooms, which had wallpaper.  Mr. Ramirez provided me a very reasonable quote, thus we set a date for the job.  Mr. Ramirez arrived with a fellow painter and proceeded to remove the wallpaper from 1 bathroom, and the other bathroom was Kiltz primed.  Mr. Ramirez and his helper removed all the fixtures, mirrors, and expertly covered all exposed areas.  Day one was completed with wallpaper removed on one bathroom and textured, the other bathroom was primed and textured.   Day 2, Mr. Ramirez arrived with 2 helpers.  Mr Ramirez proceeded to cover the work area where he was to repair the ceiling crack while his helpers painted the ceiling of the 2 bathrooms and proceeded to primer in preparation to paint.  Michael Ramirez and his helpers know what they are doing and very professional in their approach to their craft.  I would highly recommend A C L Painting and will definitely use them again."

The house hadn't been painted in 31 years and there was a lot of rot.  Toned Homes replaced wood everywhere.  The dried out wood soaked up the paint and required almost twice what was expected.  Like on the previous jobs, Toned Homes didn't restrict work to what was specified in the contract but instead automatically handled all tasks as they were identified.
