"Came quickly to give us a bid on a new meter loop; run wire to carport and shop; lights & switches in carport; install breaker box & outlet to charge RV; outlet for welder & new lighting & outlets in shop. Also installed new under & over cabinet lighting in the kitchen. Started the job quickly. Took a few weeks to complete but that was waiting on Karnes Electric to do their part of the job. The owner was very professional and his crew worked quickly. We were very pleased with the service we received. We would them again."

"Electrical Design Solutions not only did an amazing job on the work we needed done in our home, but they were incredibly fast, kind, and their work is top notch. Not to mention their reasonable and accommodating prices. I would recommend them to any small/large business as well as any residential needs. I am truly so grateful to be a customer of theirs. They have essentially “come to rescue” when we’ve needed electrical tasks done at our two homes. I can always count on them to work with our schedule. On the few occasions they’ve helped us, we’ve asked them to look at other areas of our home and without hesitation they are always so helpful and attentive. Thank you, Electrical Design Solutions! Ev Charger Installer questions, answered by experts

You can plug your electric car into a regular 120-volt household outlet only if you’re using a Level 1 charger. This method is slower and may take several days to fully charge your EV. For faster charging, you’ll need a Level 2 charger, which requires a 220- or 240-volt outlet.

Yes, electricians must be licensed, certified, and in most cases, insured. Licensing requirements vary by state and local municipality, but most U.S. municipalities require electricians to hold an electrical contractor’s license. It's always a good practice to confirm requirements with your local municipality. Even if licensing is not required in your area, hiring a licensed and experienced electrician often leads to a better end result.

A license is a legal requirement to operate a business and is necessary for pulling project permits. Certifications, on the other hand, are typically voluntary and demonstrate a certain level of expertise. In some cases, a certified electrician may send an apprentice or journeyman to perform the work, but they must operate under a primary electrician who holds the proper license.

Before hiring, you should verify the electrician's license, insurance coverage, and any third-party certifications. You can use Angi’s contractor licensing search to confirm a pro's license status. Additionally, businesses with the “Angi Approved” badge on our platform meet strict criteria, including having the required state and local licenses, passing a background check, and maintaining a high average rating.

Having a Level 2 charger can increase your home value, especially as electric vehicles become more popular. Homebuyers who have EVs or are interested in getting one will appreciate the convenience of a ready-to-use charging station. The added value can vary based on location and buyer preferences.

Charging your EV every night isn’t always necessary. Most EVs have sufficient range to cover daily commutes without needing a nightly charge, particularly if you have a Level 2 charger. Charging once every few days or as needed can prolong the battery’s lifespan.

You can use outdoor electrical outlets to conveniently power landscaping equipment such as electrical lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and pressure washers. From a recreational standpoint, outdoor outlets are handy for powering electric grills, mini-fridges, and stereos. They're also helpful when it's time to string Christmas lights on your home and around your property.
