"Jesse came to asses and bid the job and gave me different options. I thought my water heater was 12yrs old-13maybe, but it was over 20. More bids/estates came in much higher than theirs AND I also learned from others I could buy my own water heater and pay a plumber for insulation only. So I got a new WH and an extended warranty on it. Mother Plumber sent a Fantastic-informative-polite technician Matt to install and warranted his work. AND THEN I learned about the membership without auto renewal AND I saved even more money on that! I can tell you, you can’t beat this company in price and coverage. And i just trust them. Trust is a big issue. They make money, but they give you so much more than the others and coverage thru membership that keeps you safe year after year if you’re smart. "I had a terrible smell coming from the faucets at the front of my house (We have two systems in this house and the back part is fine?no smell). The plumbers were prompt and professional; They diagnosed a bad water heater and replaced it for $3,000+, but the smell never left! I have called the office several times but the problem has not been corrected. They even tried to blame my water softener, but if that was the case I would have smelly water in all of the house, not just the front! I talked with another plumber who told me that the problem was definitely with the water heater! So, their initial service was good, but service after the sale is zero!!"

A water hammer refers to the banging or knocking sound you hear in your water pipes after you turn off your faucet or when your washing machine or dishwater fills. This happens when highly pressurized water suddenly stops moving in your pipes due to a valve closing or your well pump shutting down quickly. Try adjusting the pressure setting on your water pressure tank—it should be below 50 psi (pounds per square inch). Or have a plumber install a water hammer arrestor.

The first rule of plumbing is nothing but water, toilet paper, number one, and number two go down the drain. 

To prevent clogs, get yourself:

  • A compast pail where you can clean plates, drain grease, and toss scraps and paper towels. 

  • Drain screens for the shower, tub, and bathroom sink to stop hair, jewelry, toys, etc. from going down the drain.

  • Trash cans for everything that shouldn’t go down the drain, like dental floss, hygiene products, and cat litter.

P.S.: If you do drop your priceless ring down the drain, take a deep breath, and then follow these steps to retrieve jewelry from your drain.

You can try several easy methods to unclog a drain, one of the easiest and most effective of which is to use a mixture of baking soda and vinegar. This will help dislodge and dissolve the clog to move it down the drain pipes. Pour 1/2 cup baking soda into the drain, followed by 1/2 cup of white vinegar. Dump several cups of boiling water (or hot water if you have PVC pipes) into the drain and let sit for up to one hour. Run hot water to clear the drain.

You can replace a spigot handle by unscrewing it from the outdoor faucet. Take the broken handle to a hardware or home improvement store. Ask for a new handle that matches the size of your existing one. Screw the new handle into the place and test the new handle to ensure it works and doesn’t cause any leaks. 

If you’ve accessed the bolts and nuts that hold your toilet seat in place and can’t unscrew them, it’s possible that they were overtightened or that the material corroded over time, making it impossible to unscrew. If that’s the case, you can either call in a plumber for help, or you can DIY a solution if you’re careful. Lay down masking tape around the mounting bracket and then use the tape as a surface to lay a hack saw blade. Move slowly to cut through the bracket and bolt, being careful not to damage the porcelain in the process.
