"Fortunately our spa only needed a small part which they had on the truck. Installed quickly and service guy was nice. Labor and part were priced appropriately, service call on top of that was quit pricey."

"The owner, Tom, came out and he was just great. I have cathedral ceilings so it was pretty difficult getting up there and finding the source of electricity. He brought all his own materials. He brought a drop cloth which impressed me. He cleaned up after he left and made sure everything was clean to my satisfaction. He was just great! He went above and beyond. This was the best service provider I’ve hired of Angie’s List."

"Jeff arrived on time and provided the bid in a timely manner.  He let me know when they would come out and he kept to his schedule.
The installer also arrived on time.  The pump and diving board installation went great, however, not so much with the spa switch.  After a while, he let me know that it wasn't working, but he wasn't sure if it was the wiring or a board in our controller.
The next day, another installer determined that it was our board, so unfortunately we paid for a new spa-side switch ($450) that did nothing.  Jeff and I discussed the situation, but I never understood why they didn't test the wiring/board BEFORE installing the new switch.
Jeff did work with me on other bids (controller repair/replacement) and would credit me the spa-side switch if we had them do the additional work.  However, the least expensive option ($1500) is too much for us at this time.
I gave a B for price (since I paid for something I can't use) and professionalism (since I think the installer should've have done better testing before installing the switch).  However, Jeff was very professional.

"The tub looks great! They made sure to cover everything beforehand, and cleaned up perfectly when they finished. They were pleasant and professional. I would recommend this company."

"Chimera is very responsive, he followed up quickly, came out ASAP, he even followed up afterward to make sure we were satiafied. He also came out to fix our faucet a week later and charged less than a plumber and solved the issue the day of the call! He was wonderful to work with and I would definitely recommend!"

Sauna Installation questions, answered by experts

No, you should only choose high-quality wood to build your sauna. Not all types of woods can withstand the pressure from heat or moisture. Only use softwoods, such as cedar and aspen, that are known for absorbing heat and resisting water.

Considering the cost of tools, parts, and hiring assisted labor, building your own sauna can cost almost as much as purchasing one. It is less expensive to buy sauna kits, since they are premade and easier to set up. Still, you may need to hire a professional to assist in electric or plumbing installation.

The primary difference between a steam shower and a sauna is the type of heat they produce. A sauna generates dry heat using electricity, while a steam shower creates wet heat from steam, resulting in nearly 100% humidity. A steam shower typically replaces an existing shower, has an opening at the top, and operates at a lower temperature (around 90-120°F) than a sauna, though the high humidity can make it feel just as warm. It is advisable to limit steam sessions to 20 minutes. In contrast, a sauna is a fully enclosed space that can be placed anywhere in a house and produces dry heat.

Most people will opt to put their home sauna outside near a pool or on a screened-in porch so the heat doesn’t move into the rest of the house. If your house has enough room, you may choose to put it in a bathroom so you can shower right after.

Both saunas and steam rooms offer some health benefits as well as a good return on investment. While there’s more research on saunas than steam rooms and fewer reported risks with steam rooms, the latter tend to be better for reducing stress. Which one is better depends on the benefits you’re looking for, your budget, and if you have space to build a sauna.
