"I had a couple questions about some trim on the inside part of some of the windows and the owner himself came out to make sure everything was done right and that I was happy with the install and new windows."

"Even though there were some issues with the window ordered being the wrong size Troy made it all right and did a great job! We replaced two windows and now we are planning to do the rest of them with T&K Glass! The price is very reasonable compared to others and he is a nice guy that does great work!"

"I was concerned about this project frankly. I am very familiar with window installation and what is involved, I'm very happy with the outcome. These guys work very hard, do a very good job and offer a very good product. The new windows function better than the original windows from the builder (no surprise) but they did such a good job replacing my windows I didn't even have to touch up the paint - very impressed!!"

"We found The Window Source through Angie. From the quote to install the customer service was outstanding. The product is wonderful, and we can already see/feel the difference in replacing the windows. Highly recommend this company."

Windows questions, answered by experts

It’s time to replace your windows if most or many are in poor shape. In that case, new fiberglass windows will increase the energy efficiency of your home and add to its overall visual appeal, inside and out. Replacing your windows also can allow you to find a style that better suits the character of your home.

Constant fixes can be expensive over time, and by replacing your windows, you can be at ease knowing you now have windows that function properly and make your home more energy-efficient.

Windows last between 15 and 30 years on average. The glass tends to last for around 20 years, while the frames last up to 50 years. This varies by the type of window frame material, glass quality, location, and level of maintenance. Wood frames have the shortest lifespan and require repainting or resealing every couple of years, while fiberglass has one of the longest lifespans.

Consider adding sash locks to your windows to fix drafty windows if you don't currently have any. Sash locks in double-hung and single-hung windows help to create a tight seal when windows are shut.

Whether you need a permit to install a bay window depends on the project's scope. Replacing an existing bay window typically does not require a permit. However, if you are adding a new bay window, requirements can vary. Adding a new bay window to the front of your house usually requires a building permit, while adding one to the side or back of your house often does not. It's always best to check with your local municipality to confirm the specific requirements in your area. Additionally, if you live in a historic district, you should consult your neighborhood association to ensure your project complies with their construction guidelines. If you're unsure about the process, a professional can provide guidance.

Yes, you can always make an existing window bigger, but the job complexity varies widely depending on the location of the window and the framing around it. Exterior walls are always load-bearing, so making windows wider will require structural changes that make for a more complex but doable project. Making windows taller often won’t require structural changes.
