The best time to plant is between spring and autumn. Springtime weather is typically mild and is when nurseries start to bloom. However, plastic or vinyl tarps aren’t recommended as a long-term way of protecting your plants from frost because they’ll trap too much moisture inside, which is actually not a good thing for your plants.
