"I went very well. Did an awesome job in my yard. It looks beautiful and then did some work inside the house (hooks , doggie door (which my dogs love, assemble shelves, boots for my bed) and very reasonable prices."

"I thought the team did a good job. They were quick to fix my issue the next day after signing the contract. I would have gave then "5 Stars" if the owner would have came back out to my house to inspect the job of his workers as a "Quality Control" measure because they did forget to do some caulking around the baseboard area of the replaced drywall, which I noticed after the workers departed, but that was minor compared to the rest of the work they did, so I took care of it myself; otherwise, I definitely recommend hiring them."

"I am so happy with the work that was completed by Juan and his crew. He is very professional, punctual, and efficient. He provided a detailed contract and his work was exceptional. Juan removed my popcorn ceilings, installed new baseboards, patched some drywall holes, and painted my kitchen cabinets after my renters moved out. Everything looks brand new and beautiful. I highly recommend Juan to anyone who needs quality work done. There were no delays in the timeline set out which I really appreciated."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

It doesn’t matter which way you lay drywall, and you can choose to install it horizontally or vertically depending on the size of the wall and how tall the ceiling is. It’s easier to lay drywall sheets vertically if you have a taller ceiling, but laying sheets horizontally makes it easier to apply joint compound.

You can skim coat plaster, but it’s better to repair the plaster itself. A skim coat is a thin coat of drywall joint compound spread over the surface of a wall. The result is a flat finish that looks pleasing, but part of the appeal of plaster is its imperfections and aesthetic. Skim coating is best when limited to drywall applications.

There is no way to cut drywall without making dust, but you can reduce the amount of dust and especially the dangerous airborne particles by using manual cutting tools. Using a utility knife to score and snap your drywall will minimize dust production, and a jab saw for cutting cutouts for boxes and fixtures will generate almost no airborne dust. Even if you use these methods, you should still wear a respirator and safety goggles to avoid damage to your lungs and eyes.

Yes, it is possible to rewire a house without removing the drywall, but this doesn’t work in all homes. You can pull out old wires and insert new ones if you have access to the wiring system via the ceiling or through a crawl space. Some pros can also use a magnetic kit to fish the old wire out of the wall through a hole cavity and install the new wires. Just keep in mind that doing this is less stable than removing drywall, as you won’t be able to staple the wires into the framing.

It’s not a good idea to plaster over broken plaster (unless by broken you’re referring to cracked, in which case that’s perfectly fine). However, broken plaster can be a sign of a larger underlying issue like foundation damage or severe damage to the lath holding up the plaster, so it’s worth investigating before you simply plaster on top of the damage.
