"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. "I was having issues with my AC/Heater combo unit. I initially went with another company (not going to name names in this review) due to being able to get a sooner appointment. Their service tech said that the refrigerant was low by 2lbs and that I may have a leak in the system. I initially believed their recommendation. However, after getting the funds to set up the appointment I decided to call Kings Aire for a second opinion. I have known about Kings Aire due to there work on Fort Bliss. The 2 Service Techs Christian and another guy were very professional and weren't out to BS me. After doing their checks they found nothing wrong with my unit except that the refrigerant was a little bit low but nothing that should affect the operation of the system. That diagnosis saved me quite a bit of money. I have elected to stay with Kings Aire for any HVAC work. I did purchase their annual service agreement which the price is reasonable at $150 for the year. This comes with 2 service checks, one for the Fall and one for the Spring. I wish I would have waited for an appointment with Kings Aire instead of paying another company $95 for them to tell me something that I did not need. I am now a Kings Aire customer for life."

Installing a dishwasher should take one to four hours, depending on the complexity of the installation and whether you DIY or hire a pro. Even if you're particularly handy, installing a dishwasher on your own will likely take longer — at least two hours. On the other hand, a professional can likely install a dishwasher in about an hour. Installation time will take longer if you have to remove an existing dishwasher, reroute plumbing, or repair damaged flooring underneath the appliance.

The correct water temperature for your dishwasher depends on the washing phase. When water enters the machine, it should be around 120 degrees Fahrenheit, but no hotter than 150 degrees. During the wash cycle, the machine will heat the water to between 130 and 140 degrees. If your dishwasher has a sanitizing cycle, the water can reach a temperature of up to 180 degrees.

You should follow the instructions listed on the detergent packaging and in your dishwasher user manual. Often, this means inserting the tablet or pod into the detergent dispenser (and not in the bottom of the dishwasher). If you put the pod anywhere else, it might dissolve too early in the cycle and fail to clean your dishes properly.

While the exact appearance of the filter will depend on your dishwasher brand, it often consists of a cylindrical or rectangular mesh or plastic component. The filter is located at the bottom of the dishwasher beneath the lower spray arm. It includes a combination of a coarse filter, which traps larger food particles, and a finer filter, which captures smaller debris. The filter assembly may be a single unit or a multi-part system that can be twisted or snapped out for cleaning.

You can repair minor damage to a dishwasher drain hose with tape designed to handle moisture but it’s probably better to simply replace it. Dishwasher hoses are inexpensive items that, although they require some muscle to change, are best swapped out. You don’t want to find your kitchen has flooded because of a faulty part that usually costs between $10 and $30.
