"I needed some drywall repair done and came across Ali, the owner of Ayobi contractors. He was already highly recommended and well reviewed and I decided to reach out to him to get an estimate. The communication was great! I sent pictures of what I needed done and Ali responded with a detailed and very competitive estimate. After the appointment was made, he arrived on time and completed the work exactly as he said he would. He exceeded all my expectations. If anyone is looking for an honest and hardworking handyman, please don’t hesitate to contact Ayobi contractors. I am confident you will be very pleased with his work."

"Steve did n incredible job hanging up a vanity mirror that didn’t have any hooks and he installed and making my egg chair! He was quick to respond and very punctual. He finished these projects so quickly and cleaned up after himself too. His pricing was also very fair and he did great with my dog! Will definitely be hiring him again for future projects and recommending him to my friends!! Can’t recommend Steve enough."

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Yes, it's normal for pool pumps to make noises—like a humming or gentle rumbling sound. But if your pool pump is making loud noises, then this could indicate an underlying problem. Sounds to keep an ear out for include grinding, whining, screeching, and banging noises. Also, pay attention to any new or louder sounds emanating from your pump.

Generally speaking, most municipalities require you to get a permit when you build a pool. Whether or not you need a permit to install a plunge pool will depend on your local laws. It’s always better to check with your HOA and town clerk before digging for a new pool. Otherwise, violations could result in hefty fines.

Yes, adding a pool to your property will almost always increase your homeowners insurance premiums. This is because pools are considered a greater liability due to their potentially hazardous nature, and the added replacement cost of the pool is factored into your home's rebuilding cost when considering coverage limits. The amount of the increase can range from as little as $50 to a few hundred dollars more per year, depending on your insurance provider, location, current coverage, and the safety features installed. Before building a pool, it is highly recommended to contact your insurance agent to get an estimate, discuss their specific guidelines and requirements, and factor the increased premium into your total pool installation costs.

Shipping container pools are prone to rust and corrosion over time, especially if you install a saltwater system. Though the interior of your pool should be lined, the outside is at risk. Luckily there are a few things you can do.

Elevate your pool or place it on a foundation to prevent moisture buildup along the bottom of the container. Apply a rust inhibitor or paint to protect the outside of your pool, and maintain the proper chlorine levels to reduce the rate of corrosion. Regularly inspect your pool for signs of corrosion, and take action when necessary.

The total time to install an inground pool typically ranges from 8 weeks to 4 months. This timeline can be influenced by several factors, including permitting, site preparation, and the construction process itself.

Key phases and their typical durations include:

  • Permits: Obtaining necessary permits can take anywhere from two to six weeks.

  • Excavation and Site Preparation: This phase takes about a week but can be extended by problematic soil, unexpected ground conditions, or the need to move underground utility lines.

  • Construction: The actual build, including plumbing and electrical work, often takes one to two months. The pool material is a major factor here; a concrete pool needs about 30 days to cure, while installing a fiberglass or vinyl liner is much faster.

External factors can also cause significant delays:

  • Contractor Availability: Spring and summer are busy seasons, and high demand can lead to long waitlists, potentially adding months to your start date. It is often recommended to start planning and getting estimates up to a year in advance.

  • Other Delays: Weather, material shortages, complex designs, and other unforeseen challenges can extend the project timeline.
