"Used them at the recommendation of a friend, to install gutters for two story house. Gutters Worked however when it rained heavy, my flowerbeds got completely flooded due to where the downspout was installed. I called and sent photos to see if maybe I needed additional downspouts installed or relocated to divert the water elsewhere away from my foundation and never got a call back from them. On two separate occasions. Then come to find out from the person who referred them, they responded to him in recent days and continued to do work for him. I guess I will not be using them for further projects if they don’t even respond about the projects they completed. I guess since it’s a small job, maybe it wasn’t worth their time."

"Kory and his team did a great job and delivered on every promise and deadline. The crews were prompt and did a great job of taking care of our home while working. They worked hard to minimize the damage from falling debris during removal and the final job looks outstanding. Very happy that I went with Woodlands Roofing!"

"Great! Ryan Boulanger came out, checked roof, found two "hits" that didn't penetrate. Said it needed no attention but he would be back in August to check again in case the heat of the summer uncovered damage that isn't immediately apparent.
When they put the roof on a year ago, they worked quickly, did a good job, cleaned up. Cost was totally insurance so I can't detail that. A few months after install, I noticed a very, very tiny discoloration in the ceiling. I called RBC. Ryan came right out and found a very small area around a vent pipe that wasn't sealed. He immediately fixed and insisted on calling his painter to come fix the discoloration ... all at this expense.
I would highly recommend this company.

"Super nice guys. Very eager to please. Did some things extra at no charge. He noticed and so had cemented a large stone step that had come loose, just to be nice. He even painted the workbench (unrequested).   Work done:  Replaced several 2x4s  that had rotted. Sprayed the area with anti-mildew product, then replaced damaged paneling, and painted those areas. Gave advice on some runoff drainage needed for the area.

"I am so happy we found Cory and his team! We had a leak show up on a bedroom ceiling and upon further investigation, realized we had some flashing and hail damage. We contacting Cory and he immediately responded and also worked around our crazy schedules to meet with the insurance company's adjuster. From start to finish, Cory made the process so easy and explained everything extremely well. He helped us make the best product & color choice in shingles - our new roof is a beautiful grey. Plus, his crew was extremely nice and professional and actually worked around two rain storms to make sure we were taken care of and our roof was secure. They also worked very meticulously but also so quickly and did a great job cleaning up. The entire process was super easy and Cory & his team were awesome! We will definitely recommend Cory to others."

"They were able to accommodate us expediently, which was critical for our closing date.  They were professional and followed OSHA and COH standards.  Since we had a three story home, they had to rent a lift and get the job permitted.  If I needed roofing work or repairs done in the future, I'd hire them again."

Skylights questions, answered by experts

Water will leak through a skylight if there are issues in the sealing of the skylight. Find and fix those issues yourself if possible, but it’s a good idea to contact a professional, as there could be much more water damage than you initially saw. Plus, it’s dangerous to work on a roof without the proper safety equipment and know-how.

When planning out skylights and deciding how big they should be, it's important to look at the dimensions of the interior space. In addition to changing a room aesthetically, skylights influence the illumination and temperature of the space below. The U.S. Department of Energy recommends that a skylight’s size should never be more than 5% of the floor area in rooms with many windows.

Yes, you can cover up a skylight if you no longer wish to have it in your space. There are a few options for covering up a skylight. One option is to install a skylight cover or shade that can be easily opened or closed as needed, allowing you to control the amount of light entering the room. Another option is to cover the skylight with a solid material, such as plywood or drywall, effectively sealing it off. However, when covering a skylight, it's essential to ensure proper insulation and waterproofing to prevent any issues in the future.

There are four main types of lighting used in homes: ambient, task, accent, and decorative. Within these categories, there are a number of fixtures to choose from including ceiling-mounted lights, floor lamps, under-cabinet lights, track lighting, and more.

Choosing the fixture that’s right for you depends on your home design and the area you’re looking to illuminate.

Yes, solar tubes are easier to install than skylights because they’re lighter, smaller, and easier to handle. They also require less roof cutting and have a faster, simpler installation process. This means they’re a more DIY-friendly option for homeowners who want to add more natural light to their homes.
