"Our salesman was Travis. He came out to give us a quote for insulating our attached garage only. The attached garage had NO insulation in the attic. Travis was prompt and very polite. He took the time to explain the Mio Insulation product. He showed us a visual comparison of the Milex with cellulose and fiberglass insulation. He went into the attic to see how much insulation we already had over the living area. After visiting with Travis and doing our own research, we decided to add insulation to our existing (living area) attic insulation and insulate the attic of our attached garage. The insulation was prompt and efficient. The installers were very polite and cleaned up any mess they made. The process was very efficient and enjoyable."

"Rep. checked entire system. He found several wires not connected properly and fixed this. He also made recommendations regarding the attachment of the panels to the rood that would provide more stability and leakproofing. The representative appeared to know what he was doing - much better than others, including the representative who was engaged by the roofer (who replaced our rood due to hail damage) to disconnect/connect the panels."

"The crew was great! They did a thorough job, removing the old underlayment and cleaning the decking, then replacing it with a self-sticking modern underlayment and new wood battens before fitting and reinstalling the tile, replacing as needed. The joints and pipes were sealed and the seal painted to match the tile. The roof looks great."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Bubble wrap is better for moving since it can be cut to size, whereas dish foam comes in precut sheets that are harder to manipulate. However, if you’re packing items like dishes, wine glasses, picture frames, or mirrors, dish foam will protect them better. Ensure you measure your box beforehand so you know what size dish foam to purchase.

The heat loss through a poorly insulated attic when you’re running your furnace or heat pump during cold weather can be as high as 25%. This means you could see significantly higher energy costs to make up for this heat loss. The cost of adding insulation to the attic may eventually pay for itself through lower energy bills. If you decide to add a radiant barrier too, the radiant barrier cost may also pay for itself over time.

One of the biggest disadvantages of glass garage doors is that they are not the best at insulating your garage. In the summer, heat can enter through the glass, while in the winter, heat can escape through the glass, increasing your electricity and gas bills as you crank up your HVAC unit. You can help mitigate the poorer insulation by investing in insulated glass and insulating your garage.

Heavily exceeding building code requirements for insulation not only wastes money on materials but can also lead to ventilation and moisture problems. In most cases, the minimum amount of insulation required by code is perfectly adequate.

DIY installation is not recommended, as professionals ensure even distribution, proper sealing, and compliance with building codes.
