"This company is excellent!! Initial contact provided a scheduled time for an estimate on the exterior painting we needed, Ceasar came out at the appointment time, provided an estimate the next day and the project was scheduled. The team worked well together and knew exactly what needed to be done … pressure washing, masking off windows and then painting. No overspray on any brick, quick and cleaned up every piece of material they used! Charges for the job were extremely competitive! We highly recommend Expert Painters TCP!!"

"John & Mike showed up for estimate and job on time and communicated well. The jobs were done very well and for a reasonable price that included all materials and did a nice job of clean up. We will bring them back for some more painting outside as well."

"Cabinet trim not aligned, door leaks now, security wire cut (they did repair the next day; but we were without a secure window for a night...it Looks okay, but if you are a stickler for details (alignment, angles, precision cutting) maybe not the best option. I STOPPED using Angie's List after this experience...too risky, no guarantees on service, or protection of investment.

"Excellent. Anything in the way that we couldn't move was moved or covered. Then after painting everything moved back. On one wall where multiple masks were hung, he even took a picture before moving so that the items could be replaced exactly as they had been. Cleanup was excellent. Anybody can do a good job painting which he did but the preparation and cleanup really made the difference for us."

"The work that they did was for more than 2000 sq ft. Their prices were very reasonable; they were just in the ball park with the lower bids but not so low that it was scary for me. Their prices were by far less than some other professionals. They were very thorough and clean; when they left they left a clean work area. When they first got here they did not have insurance but I informed them that I wanted them to get insured before they did the job and they went out and got the insurance which was good. They are a small private company and I think they work for people who don’t require insurance but I did so they went out and got it which made us feel better. They did a really good job on the retexturing because they re-textured the roof with a really faint paint orange peel. My house is really old and if they had not re-textured it then it would have looked bad. They ran out of paint before they got to the end of painting the garage floor so they stopped to get more paint; there is a little bit of line on the garage floor where I can see the difference but it is a garage so I am not very concerned about it."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

It is less costly to paint than wallpaper when you only consider the upfront cost. Wallpaper costs $320 to $820 when applied by a pro, while paint only costs $200 to $700 per room. However, when comparing wallpaper versus paint, consider the long-term as well. Wallpaper can save you money over time since it has a much longer life span than paint.

The average cost to install or hang wallpaper is around $575 per room or project, with typical prices ranging from $200 to $1,500. Costs can be higher for custom or luxury products. Since project size varies, it's often helpful to estimate labor costs per square foot, which generally fall between $1 and $7, with an average of $4 per square foot. The total cost depends on several factors, including the quality and type of wallpaper, the size and type of the room, and whether old wallpaper must be removed first. Opting for less expensive materials like peel-and-stick wallpaper or choosing to do the installation yourself can lower the overall cost. For the most accurate estimate, it is best to have a professional inspect the space and provide a quote.

In most cases, it is not recommended to wallpaper over existing wallpaper, as the success depends on the type of paper already on the wall. While you might be able to cover non-coated wallpaper, you should never apply new wallpaper over a vinyl-coated one, which is more common. Doing so can lead to poor adhesion, resulting in bubbles, imperfections, and peeling. It can also trap moisture, potentially causing hazardous mold growth between the layers.

Even if the existing wallpaper is suitable, experts recommend applying only one new layer. Adding multiple layers (more than two total) can cause significant adhesion problems, leading to warping and bubbling. For the best results, the recommended approach is to remove the old wallpaper and all paste residue before hanging the new paper. If you are unsure about your wallpaper type, consider consulting a professional.

When choosing materials for finishing basement walls, consider factors such as moisture resistance, durability, and fire resistance. Opt for materials specifically designed for basement environments, like moisture-resistant drywall or cement board. Insulation with vapor barriers can help regulate temperature and prevent condensation. Consider using mold-resistant paints or coatings.

Research and consult with experts to select materials that are suitable for your specific basement conditions and intended use. Prioritize quality and compatibility to achieve long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing results.

To pair a unique sense of style with white walls, keep them well-decorated. Hang vibrant art or bold furniture to add color to the room. Add some texture and greenery to the space with plants. Choose accent pieces such as throw pillows or light fixtures with patterns. Having a white wall can be a plus as it allows homeowners to easily decorate their homes as they desire without worrying about clashing with the paint color.
