"An unsolicited review of POOLIE pool services: I am not sure where I got the name of Poolie pool services, but what a find!!! This company was one of the best companies I have ever dealt with, the immediate response to any of my emails and/or messages, the quality of the work, the professionalism of all of the employees, the courtesy of their workers are all reasons that I felt compelled to write this review. Jason, great guy and took care of every single concern that I had. Justin, very good worker and would let me know every detail of what was going on Paul, just installed a new valve for me and was quick, efficient, and very courteous Poolie quoted the resurfacing of my in ground 22,000 pool as well as replacement of a bad skimmer and gave me the best price of all of the quotes, they did the work fast and efficient, cleaned up after every visit and maintained the pool even after the pool was complete and full of water to make sure all was as I wanted it. I rarely do reviews, in fact, this may be my first unsolicited one I have ever done, but this company has really proved to be a great find, hope you will consider them, I doubt you will be disappointed. "Friendly, professional technicians. I highly recommend this company. They will be the only company I will trust servicing my spa. I thought there was a major issue with the spa, Johnnie checked and it was very minor repair. That is honestly above and beyond!"

"These folks came out right away on a rainy Saturday afternoon to repair my spa, when others that I called would only schedule an appointment 2 weeks out. They found the problem and fixed it quickly. Very impressed with their knowledge and work ethics,"

"We had Everic Pool replaster our 19,500 gallon pool back in 2020. We were super happy with the quality of work and super impressed at how good of a job they did. We decided to contact them again in January 2024 to have our pool retiled. It’s a family owned business, which impressed us in the first place. We had contacted other pool contractors and Everic Pool beat all their prices. Thank you Everic Pool! ?‍♀️"

Pool and Spa Servicing questions, answered by experts

You should put chlorine in your hot tub on a regular basis. To keep bacteria away, keep the chlorine level in your hot tub at between 3-5 mg/l, which may mean you need to add chlorine daily or at least every two to three days. Don’t add chlorine to your hot tub water more than once per day.

Hot tub maintenance can cost between $500 and $1,000 annually. These costs typically cover deep cleaning the tub, refilling it several times a year, and maintaining the water's chemical balance. While you can perform maintenance yourself, a professional can clean and treat your hot tub with chemicals to save you time. The biggest expenses are often heating and repairs, but regular maintenance can help you avoid more complicated and costly repairs and preserve your investment.

A hot tub cover's lifespan is typically between three and seven years, with an average of five to seven years for a well-maintained one. The quality of the cover is a major factor; lower-quality polyester or vinyl soft covers can tear easily with regular use.

To extend the life of your cover, proper maintenance is key. This includes:

  • Keeping the cover clean, dry, and out of the sun. Use a soft cloth and mild dish soap for cleaning.

  • Applying a vinyl protectant spray.

  • Cleaning the underside with a chlorine spray.

  • Using a cover lift to prevent damage from rough handling.

  • Protecting it from harsh weather.

  • Keeping children and pets off the cover.

Investing in a high-quality cover and checking for a warranty at the time of purchase can also contribute to its longevity.

Many people find saltwater tubs worth the upfront expense. They cost less to maintain than traditional hot tubs, so you can save in the long term. Maintenance is also easier, typically involving balancing the pH and cleaning the tub rather than adding chemicals. They’re also gentler on sensitive skin, and you won’t walk away with a strong chlorine odor.

If water is left inside the hot tub pump over a cold winter, it could freeze and severely damage the pump, water lines, and jets. That can cause leaks, which require very expensive repairs. Freezing or leftover water can stain and damage the hot tub shell, which leads to replacement. Even in mild climates, leaving sitting water in the tub or pipes for a long period of unuse is a bad idea, since disinfecting chemicals fade and the water can develop bacteria, algae, and other big headaches when it’s time to use the tub again.
