"DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! We hired them to install a Generac generator in early 2022. After a bunch of missteps, they finally got it installed, but the generator has not worked since installation. Mars has sent a number of different people here to try to fix it, but it still does not work. This is complicated by the fact that Mars has experienced SIGNIFICANT turnover since early 2022 and every time I someone is sent out here, that person is no longer around after a few months. They are now refusing to send an electrician to fix an electrical issue with the generator, claiming it is no longer under warranty. HUH? It hasn't worked properly since being installed. It would have had to work properly for the warranty to even kick in. Just stay far away from them! Any company that has that much turnover has major issues with management, which doesn't speak well for how the business is run."

Bathtub Restoration questions, answered by experts

Acrylic tubs can fade or turn yellow over time due to thick layers of accumulated dirt, hard water deposits from minerals, and shampoo or soap dyes. Also, as an acrylic tub ages, it may become dull or change color due to changes in the acrylic itself.

Of the two most common and affordable bathtub materials, acrylic is notably better. Though fiberglass is cheaper, it is also more prone to scratching, chipping, fading, and cracking. Acrylic holds up better to wear and tear, cleaning, and sun exposure; the slight cost increase is usually worth the increased longevity.

When it comes to cleaning bathrooms, bleach usually comes to mind. But like ammonia, bleach can damage acrylic tubs. In fact, many tub manufacturers warn against using bleach on acrylic bathtubs, and doing so could void the warranty on your tub. Again, a gentler cleaner specifically made for acrylic tubs, or one of the homemade methods listed above, is your better bet here.

The cost of installing a new bathtub is considerably more expensive than refinishing an existing one, so if you’re looking to upgrade your tub on a budget, you might be better off refinishing it for now. Additionally, if your tub has only minor damage, refinishing it will make it look new again without the extra demolition and time.

The cost to refinish a bathtub is $490 for most homeowners. However, this cost can range from $200 to $1,000 or more, depending on your tub's material and condition.

For example, enamel and cast-iron bathtubs are pretty straightforward to refinish, costing between $350 and $600. However, if you have an antique claw-foot tub, you can expect to pay between $500 and $1,200 for refinishing costs due to the care and complexity needed.
