Hi, my name is Vernon Knapp. I'm the owner of Alliance Remodeling. I've been in the construction business since I was eighteen. I started out as a remodeling helper after high school learning the in's, out's and in between's. There is something I learned along the way, besides how to fix stuff and make ugly houses beautiful, is no matter how long you've been doing something there is always something to learn. I've been on my own for seven years now and have seen a lot. I also attended ITT Tech in Arlington for Drafting and Design and Construction Management. I try to give the most accurate bids on jobs but no-one has ex-ray vision to see what obstacles might be waiting to be revealed. I will work with you diligently on all work and problems we are likely to encounter. I have trusted employees that do great work, that's why I keep them. I have sub-contractors to do all work that requires a license in Texas such as Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC etc. I can change out and/or repair light fixtures, wall plugs, light switches, faucets, toilets, sinks, valves, and other smaller things that don't require a license. I can work with you and around your schedule if needed / possible. With the economy the way it is I understand most people are on a budget....so am I. I can adjust billing to fit your needs in most cases. I do have a heart for our disabled Veterans and Elderly so I do give them special rates. I hope this has helped you with making a well informed decision. I look forward to earning your business and hearing from you If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call. Thanks for any opportunities in advance.

Woodworking questions, answered by experts

If you remove a load-bearing wall to create an entrance to a carport or covered patio, you can expect to pay between $3,200 and $9,500, with an average cost of $6,400. Factors such as the type of addition and if that area needs additional work will add to the price.

Wooden carports offer aesthetic appeal, durability, and customization options compared to metal alternatives.

Building a new home can be more expensive than buying an existing one, depending on the housing market in your area. Many homeowners still find that building a new house is worth the investment as they can choose the exact layout they want, as well as to choose their own floors, wall coverings, appliances, and finishes. If you live close enough to the build site, you can also stop by to check on the builder’s progress, which can provide some peace of mind that the project is worth it.

It’s almost always more affordable to buy an existing home than it is to build new construction unless you’re planning on building a new home yourself. A DIY house build will typically cost less than buying an existing house. However, new construction comes with higher property taxes, so long-term costs may be higher for new construction, even if you DIY.

Hickory, red oak, white oak, and Brazilian walnut are among the most durable wood flooring options. Teakwood is extremely durable and known as one of the hardest woods. It holds up against weather and sunlight, but it’s costly and can be difficult to source. Keep durability in mind when installing floors for high-traffic areas in your home.
