I used Woodchuck 3 other times without any complaints or issues, but this time was very disappointing. The quality of fence was mediocre - a lot of split boards, which I only know because I had to re-stain the fence because Josh made a mistake on the stain color - I got red stain instead of walnut. I paid $790 for staining and Josh admitted it was his mistake but it would cost ME to fix. No one has ever paid me for messing up! My son was in ICU on the day of the staining (a little distracted) so when Josh called me to look at it; I saw it mismatch but Josh said it would dry darker and the guys could do a heavier second coat and it would look closer - so I trusted him. Unfortunately red will never look brown and I had to repair it myself - what a waste of $790 -- BAD customer service! :(

Ken and the guys are awesome! Not only was the price great, but the work was absolute quality. These guys were a pleasure to work with.

Woodchuck Millwork was great. Ken showed up for the inspection, very patiently explained the issues and required fixes while preparing the quote. Josh came out a few days later to do the actual work, and was equally courteous and patient. The only minor annoyance was that he was supposed to call beforehand, which he didn't. Most importantly though, they did a really super job with the gate (it looks and feels very solid now), and also replaced 3 broken fence pickets as part of the service. Their price was slightly higher than a couple of other people who came out for quotes, but given the quality of work, I didn't mind paying that little bit extra at all. Definitely recommend and would consider hiring again.

Josh called me back within minutes of when I initially called. He spent an hour that day going over my options for fence repair and restaining. I appreciated the quality of his work, his promptness, and the price. He's very easy to work with and flexible. When my circuit breaker flipped and I was not home, he brought in his own generator so he could finish the job on time.

I called the company from a list provided by Angie's list. Josh called me back, we discussed the project, he understood and gave me an estimate which I accepted. We agreed on a day and time for him to replace my attic pull down ladder. He and his helper/partner showed up and preformed the task for the agreed price. I would hire them again.

My fence build & install was scheduled for the first of June, 2018. Josh called and was able to move the installation up a couple of days. The fence is well built and definitely the straightest fence in my neighborhood! Pricing was very reasonable. Painters followed and did a nice job. They were very neat, using drop cloths to cover grass/trees. The cleanup was great. I should have questioned what type of paint/primer and how many coats my quote included. They had only allowed for a minimum of 1 coat of combination primer/paint. What they put on was well done and they offered to add primer/or/second coat for an additional fee. I would use this company again. They are professional, show up as promised, produce a quality product and are easy to work with. .

Josh and his partner were great. They are not very good at communicating the status and came later than promised. However, once they came, they performed the work professionally and on budget. It took them longer to do the job but they stayed as long as it took on Saturday evening and got the job done. I will definitely hire them again.

Everything was excellent. On time, under budget, responsive to changes. Couldn't ask or hope for better service.

Bill again did a great job. Here are the specific things that I appreciate about his work: 1) A commitment to building things really well (i.e. built to last). Many of the projects Bill has done for us have been replacing old things that have worn out. But his rebuilt versions have been much, much better constructed than the originals. For example, the deck he replaced just feels so much more solid when you walk on it. 2) He has excellent attention to detail. So not only are things built to last, but they look nice too. This is an individual who truly wants to do great work. 3) His prices are fair. To be clear, Bill is not the lowest price available--you can find others who will do the work for less, but they aren't going to do nearly as good of a job. What I am trying to say that is that on a quality-adjusted-basis, Bill's prices are definitely fair. This is especially true when you consider how much longer his work is likely to last because his quality standard is higher. 4) He is nice to work with. I was pretty picky about how I wanted certain details to come out, and this necessitated communication throughout the project. Bill has been nice to work with on that front. He's also good about explaining the pro's and con's of different choices.

Great! The man who did the work was a real craftsman and did excellent work.

The process went very smoothly. Josh was clear on how long it would take and how the process would flow, so I was able to alert my neighbors to the work and they finished on time.

It went well. They were on time, very friendly and professional, and resolve all my fence need. They went above and beyond their service and help me resolve some fence issue that I wasn't aware of. I also learned some information regarding staining fences. They are skills in carpentry and fence repair. i will definitely hire them for my fence needs.

Wonderfully easy. Prompt, responsive and professional to deal with through the entire process. We're originally from Ohio near an Amish community and our house is filled with beautifully well constructed furniture. Now we have our own Amish quality builder here in Texas with Woodchuck. We certainly recommend for any of your custom wood needs.

Fence looks very good and sturdy. I didn't have any issue during the whole process and owner was very responsive.

Bill answered my call, showed up on time, was very thorough, polite and knowledgeable - exactly what you wish for in service providers. He completed the job quickly, within the stated price and left the area clean. He took his time with the work, making sure that everything looked perfect and explaining if the age of the existing material limited the options available within my budget constraints. Bill will be the first call that we'll make when it's time to build custom cabinets or have other repair work done.

It went very well. They were prompt, courteous and did the job right, braced the gate, put on new, stronger hinges and for very little additional cost, reinforced a second gate the same way.
