"I've hired Versatility Mills several times over the past two years, and they have always been such a pleasure to have on my property. They have built a few stacked stone walls using existing rocks from my property, excavated ground for a pool, built a pergola, helped with on-side rainwater management, and managed big projects. I have trusted Berean with execution on several projects - I'll tell him what my vision is and he and his team have executed my vision flawlessly every time. They are tidy and priced fairly, and I am always glad to see them because we know that our place will look infinitely better when they leave. Absolute pleasure to work with them and i cannot recommend them enough."

"Cecil and his crew did an excellent job on trimming back tree limbs and removing an old dead tree. They even hauled off some old brush that had been up against the fence from a previous storm. Everyone was so polite and respectful and the cleanup was amazing afterwards. I would highly recommend Cecil Woodson and his company."

Customers say: Quality work

"There was a slow start because Mason had to go buy the materials for the job. Then on the second day when he was working late the electricy went out and he could not continue welding. By the 3rd day he and his helper finished and did a get job of cleaning up and removing all the construction debris. Everything looked like they had not even been there. There was no damaged grass or landscaping destroyed in the process. Even the chickens were happy. They did a great job of keeping the gates closed on the 3rd day of construction and no chickens escaped.

Topsoil costs from $12 to $55 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. For example, screened black dirt will cost about $15 per cubic yard. Loam (soil composed of sand, silt, and clay) costs about $17 per cubic yard. Standard screened topsoil costs about $20 per cubic yard. The type of topsoil you need depends on your landscaping plans.

Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.

When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
