"We have always done the labor on our house renovations ourselves. For the first time ever, we decided to hire someone else to finish the exterior painting on our house as the top peaks proved to be overwhelming. Expert Painters came right away to give us a reasonable quote. They were accommodating in working us in to their busy schedule. They did an excellent job. We highly recommend."

"I have both good and bad things to say about this experience.  It started well.  Danny came out to give me an estimate and I showed him the 2 bedrooms and kitchen I wanted painted, told him I was either going with blue or yellow (he said yellow would probably take 2 coats, blue might only take 1), and he gave me prices for 1 coat and for 2 coats.  He also said that his guys would move the heavy furniture so long as we moved all the breakable and small stuff and cleared the top shelves on some bookcases.  A week or so later I scheduled the job, and Danny was willing to schedule the work on a Saturday for me because I work full time during the week and wanted to be home during the job, and he did tell me that he personally wouldn't be able to be there.  I confirmed the work to be done both by email and by phone (painting 2 bedrooms and the kitchen, and we even discussed how they would probably need 2 coats of paint because I chose the yellow color.)  I also asked him by email and on the phone if he could recommend a particular paint that might cover in 1 coat instead of 2.  He said with yellow, it usually takes 2 coats, so just buy cheap paint.  I told him I would probably buy the same paint I bought last time, and I couldn't remember (I was at work and the paint was at home) but it was either Sherwin Williams or Pittsburg Paint.   He said he could get a good discount at SW but just a small one at PP.  I also asked him if this job could be completed in the one Saturday we had scheduled, and he said probably yes.  The day before the job, I got a call from Jess to say he would be coming out to do the job for Danny.  The first problem was that Jess was coming alone.  I asked him how he was going to move the furniture by himself because Danny had said the painters would move the furniture for us?  (I have a bad back and my husband is having problems with his shoulder and elbows, so this was important to me).  I also asked him if he could actually paint 3 rooms with 2 coats of paint in one day?  Jess said he thought it was 2 rooms and 1 coat of paint each.  I said no, it wasn't, and that this was probably at least a 2 man job.  I then called Danny.  This phone call went horribly, and I would have canceled the job then if I wasn't in such a jam to get the rooms painted that particular weekend.  (I had carpet people lined up the next weekend, furniture delivery the next weekend, so I really needed the paint job done right away or else it would start a domino effect of problems).  Danny was extremely defensive.  He said he'd never promised to send more than 1 guy out.  I said no, he hadn't, but he did promise that his guys would move the furniture and likely finish in one day, and I didn't see how that was possible with just 1 guy.  And I reminded him that the job was for 3 rooms, probably 2 coats each, and told him that we had discussed this on multiple occasions.  At this point, Danny told me that he didn't remember the estimate that well because he didn't think I was going to hire him when he came to give me an estimate because a couple of years ago he gave me an estimate and I went with someone else.  I can kind of see how he might have forgotten what we talked about during the estimate if he didn't think I was going to hire him, but I followed that up with an email and a phone call to discuss the job again and schedule the work, so I don't see how he got this wrong.  Danny also told me that the last time he came out to give me an estimate a couple of years ago, I told him I went with the cheaper estimate from someone else because I "didn't want his quality in my house."   He said it to me in a tone that implied I had insulted him last time.  This is ridiculous.  I've never said anything like that.  That doesn't even sound like something I'd say.  I'm sure I told him that I was going with the cheaper estimate because this is a starter home, it's not very nice, and we really just wanted the job done for the cheapest price we could find.  I thought I was being nice by contacting him to let him know I was going with another estimate instead of just leaving him hanging, and I tried to explain that in our present circumstances, we were just looking for the cheapest price, but thanks for his time.  Apparently, he was insulted that I went with someone else last time.  And I'd like to reiterate that I never said those words quoted above.  Anyway, back to the phone call with Danny, he asked me what paint I'd purchased, and I told him PP Pure Performance.  He told me that was bad paint and he never would have told me to buy that.  At this point I started getting upset because not only was the job getting messed up, not only was Danny being rude to me on the phone, but now I had apparently bought bad paint, and it wasn't cheap ($50 per gallon).  I bought it even though he told me to buy cheap paint because I figured it was good quality (apparently price doesn't necessarily mean good quality) and because it was the same paint we used on our 3rd bedroom the last time and this way all the bedrooms would match.  Anyway, I told him that I know he didn't tell me to buy it, but I had specifically called to ask what paint I should buy and he said it didn't really matter, so this was upsetting to be told that my choice was bad.  Danny then told me that I was giving him really "bad vibes" and that this just wasn't going well, and that usually he has no problems with customers (implying that this was all my fault) and that he feels like I'm trying to put this "all on him."  At this point I wanted to cancel the job, but I needed this job done the next day, so I told Danny that apparently we'd miscommunicated and that just happens sometimes.  I said I still wanted to do the job, but by the way he was talking, it seemed to me like he wanted to cancel the job.  He said no, he just doesn't understand how this was messed up so badly.  He then said that he would try to find another guy to come out and he himself would come out the first hour of work to help move furniture and tape off.  I said that would be fine.  The next day, Danny and Jess and another guy showed up.  They got to work right away.  They did a test patch to see if I needed 2 coats or just 1 in the rooms.  I needed to go get another gallon of paint and Danny called PP for me to get me his discount ($10 less).  He even asked PP if they'd give the discount on the paint I'd already bought but they said no.  At least he tried.  Danny had to leave after an hour, but that was ok as he'd told me when I scheduled the job that he couldn't come out himself on a Saturday.  The other 2 guys were there from 9am to 5pm and did a wonderful job.  They moved the furniture, they removed and replaced the blinds, they even recaulked the windows, they cleaned up when they were done, they worked solidly the whole time, and they were very pleasant.  Personally, I'd use Jess again if he takes independent contracts - he's at 512-771-8544.  I would not use Danny.  I think he just didn't pay much attention to this job, and when the details got messed up, instead of just saying their was a misunderstanding and fixing it, he blamed me.  I believe he tried to make things right, but he was so rude to me on the phone that I would not use him again."

"They did the work a couple of months ago and I am still waiting on some parts that I messed up on to come in. They have been 100 percent. They were professional, on time and responsive. They actually went out of their way to help me out on some mistakes that I made. They are A+ all the way around. I would absolutely use them again."

"The work that they did was for more than 2000 sq ft. Their prices were very reasonable; they were just in the ball park with the lower bids but not so low that it was scary for me. Their prices were by far less than some other professionals. They were very thorough and clean; when they left they left a clean work area. When they first got here they did not have insurance but I informed them that I wanted them to get insured before they did the job and they went out and got the insurance which was good. They are a small private company and I think they work for people who don’t require insurance but I did so they went out and got it which made us feel better. They did a really good job on the retexturing because they re-textured the roof with a really faint paint orange peel. My house is really old and if they had not re-textured it then it would have looked bad. They ran out of paint before they got to the end of painting the garage floor so they stopped to get more paint; there is a little bit of line on the garage floor where I can see the difference but it is a garage so I am not very concerned about it."

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

While many types of peel-and-stick wallpaper can be used in bathrooms, they may not adhere as well in humid environments as traditional wallpaper. For best results, choose a vinyl or polyester-based wallpaper, as these materials are more durable and water-resistant. Good ventilation is also crucial to reduce humidity from steamy showers. In bathrooms with high moisture and inadequate ventilation, even high-quality peel-and-stick wallpaper is likely to peel over time.

To remove pre-pasted wallpaper, you’ll need to wet the wallpaper or steam it to loosen the paste on the back of the wallpaper. Spray the paper with water, then let it soak for 10 to 20 minutes. From there, you should be able to peel off the wallpaper. Then, you may need to follow up with a cleaning solution and a scraper to remove any remaining wallpaper paste on the walls.

If you can already see the texture of the existing wallpaper through the layer of paint, then the texture could also come through the new layer of wallpaper. If that’s the aesthetic you want, then proceed. But if you want a smoother surface, you should either strip off the existing paint and wallpaper or hang a layer of liner paper before proceeding.

Professionals handle heavy lifting, proper disposal, and recycling, reducing environmental impact.

Small amounts of wallpaper can be thrown away in your household trash. If you’re removing a whole home’s worth of wallpaper, you may need to contact a waste removal company, rent a dumpster, or schedule a special pick-up with your municipality’s waste removal service. Wallpaper isn’t recyclable, so no matter which method you choose to dispose of it, make sure it doesn’t get mixed in with the recycling.
