"These guys were great. They were very professional. They knew what they were doing with all the different tasks that the repair of my flood-damaged property required. Most importantly, they were prompt and unlike so many contractors in this area, they started right away and finished approximately when they said they would. Wonderful people to get to know."

"Had three contractors bid the job, chose AIR Roofing above the others. I was very satisfied with the quality of the materials used, the installation crews attention to detail, the price, responsiveness and overall quality of the job."

"This company is amazing! JD was very responsive to my concerns. I had filed an insurance claim last year and was taken advantage of by another company that did my roof. I was very hesitant about having someone else come over and finish the job after the experience I had with the first company. I found 3 general contractors to give me an estimate on finishing the work. JD was the only one that stood out because he genuinely wanted to help me and he listened. He walked me through the process of everything, stayed in touch almost daily, sent me updates on what he found (on day 1, JD's crew found significant rot on one of the outside walls after removing the aluminum siding. It was so bad, the studs were completely gone. JD and everyone stayed for over 13 hours to replace the entire wall so I wouldn't have a huge hole in the side of my house!). I have praised him and his crew for the amazing work they have done for me! I'm no longer ashamed of my house and have been recommending them to everyone I know! Thank you so much JD, George, and the rest of the MLS crew for not giving me just a beautiful home, but for restoring my faith in people!"

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

You can enclose an open carport, however, there are several things to consider before opting to do so. You'll want to check local building codes and permit requirements before proceeding to make sure it’s legal. While you can sometimes stick-frame a carport enclosure, pre-fab kits are also available. Remember that you'll likely need to meet concrete slab regulations and provide lighting inside the structure. Both of which could substantially drive up costs.

A cross brace for a fence gate should stretch from the top corner of the gate’s hinge side to the bottom corner of its latch side at a 45-degree angle to the bottom of the gate. This positioning distributes the bulk of the gate’s weight to the base of the post, taking pressure off the top hinge.

Modern brick houses are really stick-built homes with a brick facade for aesthetic purposes only, so most have framing. With genuine brick construction, most homeowners install furring strips over the interior of the brick and then install drywall over those strips to cover the brick wall, so they don’t have traditional framing.

Not all porch columns are load-bearing, though they can be. Some porch columns are simply decorative. There are ways to identify a load-bearing column, like looking for visible seams and a foundation. Also, check to see if the column directly enters the ground. In some porch installations, a contractor will excavate a hole to install a column into the earth along with a buried cement base for stability.

The cost to install a bow window can range from $1,500 to $15,000, with a national average of $3,900. The total price includes materials, which can cost between $1,200 and over $14,000, and labor, which typically adds $300 to $1,900. Several factors influence the final cost, including the window's size and frame material. For example, vinyl frames are the most budget-friendly option, while wood frames are more expensive. Custom features or energy-efficient upgrades will also increase the price. For comparison, a bay window installation typically costs between $1,000 and $7,000.
