When I asked for sidewalks to be done, I was told they don't do that because neighbors might complain about the difference in the appearance of the sidewalk in front of their house vs. the sidewalk in front of my house."

The best tool to remove stumps is a stump grinder. You can rent one from a home improvement store or hardware store. You must wear protective gear when working with a stump grinder. It can take up to six hours to grind a stump, or you can hire a pro to tackle the job.

Some people prefer to leave or even carve a leftover stump, but we recommend removing it if possible. You can often dig out smaller trunks with a shovel once they have died and dried out.
