"Eric is awesome. He replied to my quote inquiry almost immediately after I requested it. He was out within a day, and gave me a fair quote to trim two large oaks and haul away brush from another job. I was originally scheduled for a few days from the quote, which I was ok with. However, Eric called me the following day and said he and his crew could do it within two days. They were on time and did great work. I will definitely use Texas Tree Trimming again."

I purchased a deal that included 10 man hours hours of yard work.  When they arrived, the crew leader asked what work was needed and we walked to each area where I showed him the height to trim the large ornamental trees down to and what small shrubs to be removed, pots moved, plants removed from beds etc....   I also got a bid for work beyond the 10 hours of yard work (removing 2 large crepe myrtles) and I asked for it to be started after the Angie's List deal of 10 man hours was up. The crew leader said okay and he walked with the men to tell them what to do (I didn't understand the language though) and then he left.  I caught one of the men two different times starting on the crepe myrtle removal during the 10 man hour time and I redirected him to other yard work.  It seemed as if they did not understand the other work was to be done afterward. When I told him the second time, one of the men asked me if the crew leader knew and I said, yes, it was what we had discussed.

Since a chunk of the crepe myrtle work was done already, when the time was up and the crew leader came back I asked if I could have a reduced price since it was done in the 10 hour time.  I also asked if he minded leaving the crepe myrtle that was already worked on as is and I would just pay for the second one to be removed.  This was perceived by him as me going back on the agreement.  I said I was just asking yes or no. He said he would not do just part of what we had earlier discussed for part of the price.  In addition, he said he would not do the work of the original agreement for the full price he had quoted any more. I asked several times for him to, but he refused.

He had all three of the men work a few more minutes on the regular yard work to make up for the time the one man had spent on the one crepe myrtle, and I appreciated that. With his refusal to do the work of our original agreement at the original quote though, I was left with the undone crepe myrtle problem.

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

Exterior paint contains a higher level of VOCs, which can be dangerous if you’re exposed to it for a long period of time. The good news is that paint’s toxicity reduces significantly once fully dried and cured. Do not keep open exterior paint cans in your home, basement, or garage, exposing your household to harmful chemicals over time.

Household products such as paints, cleaners, oils, and batteries are considered hazardous and should not be disposed of with regular household waste. Instead, look for local household hazardous waste collection facilities where you can safely dispose of these items without harming the environment or human health.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), hazardous waste is generally classified into four main categories:

1. Characteristic Wastes: These exhibit at least one of four hazardous traits: ignitability (flammable, like gasoline), corrosivity (can rust or decompose materials, like car batteries), reactivity (unstable and can explode, like aerosol cans), or toxicity (harmful when ingested, like lead-based paint).

2. Listed Wastes: These are specific wastes from manufacturing and industrial processes that the EPA has officially designated as hazardous. They include byproducts from processes that use solvents, pesticides, and other chemicals.

3. Universal Wastes: These are commonly generated hazardous items that are subject to streamlined regulations. Examples include batteries, pesticides, mercury-containing equipment (e.g., bulbs), and some lamps.

4. Mixed Wastes: This category includes waste that contains both hazardous and radioactive components, making it subject to regulation by both the EPA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Hazardous waste is waste that poses a threat to human or environmental health. This generally refers to waste that is flammable, corrosive, toxic, or reactive. To confirm if the waste you need to remove is considered hazardous waste, contact your local hazardous waste facility.

Chlorine has a shelf life of between six months and several years, depending on its type and formulation. Liquid chlorine can often lose its effectiveness in just a few weeks. Pool owners can find themselves with overstock that they need to get rid of. The best way to dispose of excess chlorine is to take it to a hazardous waste collection site and let the pros handle it.
