"We just had our new Moisture Shield composite deck installed by The Deck & Patio Company and couldn’t be more pleased! From start to finish, this company is five star. From working with the Sales Rep, Tom, to the Project Manager, Martin, the owner, Jed and installers Jimmy and Pedro, these guys are all perfectionists and know what they’re doing. They tore out our existing deck that was only 7 years old, already rotting and a liability to walk on. They had to start from scratch to rebuild our 455 sq. ft. deck. The installers cleaned up every day before they left and never left anything laying around the yard. They worked hard every day for 14 days and worked in everything from 83 degree weather to temps in the low 40’s (this is Texas, after all ?). These gentlemen cared about their work and it showed in their craftmanship and attention to detail. We highly recommend The Deck & Patio Company for your outdoor needs. They are a well-oiled machine and the entire process was smooth and painless. We would hire them again for future projects."

"Ron came out and suggested a landscaping theme and plant placement for existing planters in front and back of house. Followed up with quote the same day. After I approved quote he scheduled the crew to come out and do the work. They showed up on time and completed the work in one day. The yard looks great. Especially the back yard as Stevens Landscaping had previously installed a paver patio. Very good quality work."

"The Fireplace Whisperers!!! PHENOMINAL service on a very challenging installation! I cannot believe how beautiful it is... Beyond my wildest dreams!!! They lined the chimney with brand new, UL-listed vent up through the roof, installed the Victoran gas fireplace insert, re-assembled the BROKEN original slate surround (!), and installed all the GORGEOUS vintage hearth tile... Absolutely STUNNING!!! I am so smitten with this! 💗"

"This guy went over what was expected. He did a lot of little things such as moving sprinkler heads, installing a drain, and did not charge extra for this work."

"Randy had a lot of input on my project to rehab my front and back yards and tree trimming. He and his team are especially careful with their selection of which branches to trim and how much with an eye to encouraging desirable growth patterns. Trees came out really nice. The lawn rehab was a mix of fill dirt, new sod, and installing ground cover in areas of problematic grass growth. Came out really nice, AND he went above and beyond installing plants in the garden beds and pots around the house. Would recommend Randy to anyone."

"Our experience with Innovative Turf Design was amazing! The sales team patiently answered all of our concerns from the get-go. When it was time for the install, the installation team was on time and explained the process as they were working. They were courteous and knowledgeable. Living in The Woodlands and dealing with mud from constant shade, we LOVE our new backyard! No mud and no bugs! Our dog enjoys playing and laying out in the turf as well. We would do it all over again & with Innovative Turf Design! Hands down the best upgrade we've made to our house."

Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
