"Ken installed my dishwasher. He also installed Subway tile my kitchen i t turned out beautiful. He installed three bathroom lights, three bathroom faucets, and the kitchen faucet and water filter in my kitchen. My air conditioner stopped working he fixed the air conditioner. He put a new cabin air filter in my car. I did not know I had one. Also, he fixed my gas grill and it works very nicely now. He’s on time he gets the job done and I’m very pleased with his work. I would definitely refer him to anyone that wants a job well done. I gave his car to a friend of mine, which is a realtor and she said she’ll definitely use them. It’s very hard to find people that do the job correctly and have pride and what they do and Ken is that kind of person."

"Vic was the first to respond and show up to give me a price within my budget. He gave me a date and showed up ready to work. He worked diligently on both the front and back decks of my home. Quality was fantastic and he made sure the project was done right and cleaned up both days when he completed. A great blessing was when he installed a dog gate for me as well."

"I hired DAVE Roundtree handyman services to install a closet door in an existing closet that never had a door. He came over and gave me a quote for this work as well as installing new door hardware on all of our interior doors and door pulls on cabinets throughout the house. The quote was very reasonable and he was available to come that day or the next day depending on my preference. I ordered what I needed from Lowe’s and he picked everything up and arrived to install the closet door. Well, the install wasn’t as easy as anticipated since the opening was about a half inch shy of what was needed for the doors to fit properly. On his return visit, he trimmed the doors so they would install and fit the opening as as well as the door hardware. Everything looks great and I am so pleased!!! DAVE and his associate Jose did an amazing job! They were very efficient, courteous, and tidy. I will definitely hire them again. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation!!!"

"Other contractors told us that we needed to dig up around our house and install new drainage. Bryan came and told us that we didn’t need a new drainage system but that we needed to have better leaders and extended the drainage pipes away from the house and that solved the problem of water in our house. He’s practical and has vast experience which saved us thousands of dollars."

Small jobs welcome

"I hired them because they were on Angie list. Best experience I've ever had with a contractor in Houston. I was scared because I hate dealing with contractors...no offense. These guys were good and reasonably priced. They did my sheetrock after the plumbing repairs were completed after that freeze shit show."

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Poorly designed and incorrectly installed outlets can create an electrical fire hazard, as do some phone chargers and adapters that plug into these outlets. However, most outlets are perfectly safe as long as they remain in working condition. Keep an eye on what you are plugging into the outlet and stay alert for signs of outlet malfunction, like sparks, burning smell, or frequent circuit tripping.

Your smoke detector might be too high in some homes or circumstances to reach yourself. If you feel unsafe getting on a ladder to replace your hardwired smoke detector, call a licensed electrician or local handyman to knock this project off your to-do list. If you have a battery-operated smoke detector, your local fire department can change the batteries or help you replace the detector—just make sure you call the non-emergency number.

In any case, do not let this project go unresolved, as it could turn into a huge safety issue.

Your pilot light needs to be on whenever you’re using your furnace to heat your home. However, you might decide to turn it off during the summer months, when you don’t need heating. Doing this can save you a little bit of money on utility costs—just make sure you’re fine with relighting your pilot light (or hiring a professional to do it) when fall comes around and you’re ready to get cozy.

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) says you can place smoke detectors on either the ceiling or the wall, depending on the setup of your room. Since smoke rises, the ceiling makes sense, but if you go with a wall mounting, the alarm should be installed high up—no less than 12 inches from the ceiling.

Regular HVAC filter changes, deep cleaning, and air quality monitoring help maintain a healthy environment.
