"Excellent service, we had an emergency where our AC unit was failing. Alex responded immediately and on time, he was able to diagnose the issue, a faulty capacitor and get our AC back up in a few hrs. It’s so hard to find dependable people who know what they are doing so I’m glad to have them as my first choice"

"Jose was on time and started working right away. He cleaned every single vent in the property along with the AC Coils and Dryer vent. Went above and beyond by cleaning the exterior of the air handler, something I don't think was included in the service but I had asked him originally if he knew someone who could do it (the answer was not really, but he did it himself anyway). Didn't notice he had done it until he had already left, but I truly appreciate it! Would definitely hire again!"

"Jacob and his team at 53 Air & Power were friendly, thorough and efficient in cleaning our HVAC system and ducts along with our clothes dryer vent, all in 90 minutes, start to finish. He answered all our questions thoughtfully and patiently. He also had helpful suggestions for maintaining overall system efficiency and managing indoor humidity and temperature levels. Should these become problems for us, we would definitely have him implement those measures within his purview. We would highly recommend 53 Air & Power."

"Bart's is great. They have serviced my air conditioner for 4 years.  They are flexible and always timely.  They offer good advice and never try to upgrade me on services.  The advice is practical and cost is always a consideration on their part.  I feel like we have a relationship and that Landon is an old friend helping me out.  Super fast, reliable, and fair.

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Keeping your air filter clean is crucial for your heat pump's efficiency. As a general rule, you should check your air filter every 1 to 3 months. However, the actual frequency might vary depending on factors like the type of filter, indoor air quality, and the amount of dust and debris in your area. If you notice the filter is visibly dirty or clogged, it's a clear sign it needs attention sooner. Regular filter maintenance ensures proper airflow and helps your heat pump perform optimally, keeping your indoor air fresh and comfortable.

The outdoor portions of air conditioners are designed to weather the rain, so you don’t need to worry about it. An awning or roof will help protect them from snow or falling debris, which can do more damage. This is true of both window AC and outdoor units for larger systems.

If your AC condenser is nearing the end of its life, it might leak fluid or make loud or unusual sounds (like grinding or hissing). You might also notice that it isn’t heating your home as evenly or effectively as it once did. Also, an aging condenser will have to work harder to cool your home, which may force it to use more power and drive up your utility bills.

Common signs of insufficient return air include uneven temperatures, with some parts of your home feeling hotter or colder than others, and noticeable differences in air pressure between rooms. You might also observe that more air is blowing in rooms closer to the AC unit. Leaky air ducts can also be a related issue or clue.

Signs of a damaged evaporator coil include warm air from vents, frequent starts and stops without proper cooling, failure to turn on, refrigerant leaks, and unusual noises. If you suspect issues with your AC system or its components, it’s best to call an AC repair technician for proper diagnosis and repairs.
