They were prompt and responsive in giving me their estimate, unlike some other flooring installers here in Bryan. The office staff is pleasant, prompt and friendly. When their installer arrived to begin putting down the floor, he discovered the slab wasn't level at all and needed to be floated. Greg Zwernemann, the owner, was here at the house within 15 minutes. He said this happens perhaps once in every hundred jobs. They HAD to fix the wavy slab - can't put a new floor on an uneven surface. It took 70 bags of self-leveling concrete. Greg gave me a break on the cost. He said he wasn't making any profit on this part of the job. I want to point out that, although the total cost was quite high, their charges for installation were extremely reasonable. Most of the cost was because I chose to install walnut flooring, which is among the most expensive on the market. Then, when I was moving in, the movers caused a significant amount of damage to MY BRAND NEW FLOOR. They dragged furniture instead of carrying it. The moving company tried every which way to weasel out of accepting responsibility. Greg interceded on my behalf and got them to make it right. The repair work was done so well you would never even guess the floor had been damaged. Another thing they did was send Hugo to put down a few tiles that were needed when I pulled some cabinets in order to have a gas range installed in place of an electric cooktop. Hugo was here for maybe 15 minutes. Perfect tile installation. Gosh, he's good! I'm contemplating a bathroom remodel and if that comes to pass I will specify Hugo from Zwernemann for the tile work.

Our house is about 20 yrs old. Our issue was sewer smell and flies in the master bath. We had researched online and tried many remedies, but none worked. When the plumber arrived, I was shocked that they removed their shoes before entering our home! That was a nice touch! I then realized that he was not alone, but had a full team with him. We all gathered in the bathroom and I fully explained the problems we were having. He explained that he would first take a look into the pipes with a camera to diagnose any blockages or broken pipes. The camera uncovered some interesting issues. The lines were covered in "debris" and "sludge" that the camera was not very efffective. His team then was able to "clean" the line with presserized water to allow the camera to better see. After the pipes were cleared from years of sludge, it was determined that our line in the slab was not installed properly and it has a "bow" in it which causes the water and sludge to stand. The pipe still had a good flow, so his team decided that it was not an issue that was in need of immediate repair. The team then returned to the bathroom and removed the cover to our shower drain, tub drain and sink drains to determin if standing water in these was the issue. They determined that all were draining porperly and sealed properly and not allowing for standing water for flies to breed. He then asked if he could remove the toliet because it was the likely source of the smell and the flies. Upon removal, it was discovered that the "flange" was cracked and was allowing seepage under the toliet. The flange was not adjusted or a new one installed peoperly when the bath was remodeled and tile was put in about 5 years ago. It seems the plumber who installed the tolied after the tile was put in simply chose to tighten the toilet without having the flange at the proper height. This caused the flange to be put under stress and eventually crack and cause release of gas and sludge under the toliet through the crack. The reason it did not leak from under toilet was because the remodeling contactor also used tile morter to seal the toliet base to the tile. The plumbing team replaced the damaged flange and installed a new flange at the proper height. The toilet was also reinstalled with new wax seals and new bolts. As a courtesy, he also changed out our water line because it was a cheaper plastic one. He recommended the metal hose connections asthey will last much longer and have a very small history of failure. Again, he replaced at no charge while explaining. After watching his service team analyse the issue and not jump to conclusions or try to sell me services I really didn't need, I asked about another issue. Our house is about 20 yrs old and believe it or not, we were still using the original water heater that wasinstalled when the house was built. I'm not a plumber, but I did know that it ws time to replace as I did not wish to return to a flooded house one day soon. John Gause team looked at the heater and again analysed. He offered two options of replacement sizes he recommended and offered very comfortable pricing. Needless to say, I now have all of my issues repaired and a brand new water heater at far less than I was expecting to pay. Thanks to the team I met, John, Brad, Keith and Spencer. Needless to say I think they really went above and beyond and I feel confident in their work. Fantastic experience. We weren't sure which trees to trim and which ones to cut down, we ended up having him come out twice before we decided. He graciously accommodated our request for a second quote. They worked for 2 whole days and were very thorough. They cleaned up all the dead branches...
Clint and Emmitt were both very professional and proficient in repairing both our front and back doors. We have a log home which can shift with wet weather causing the doors to become out of alignment and not shut easily or lock. With all the rain this year , the doors were really out of...

Fantastic service. We have called Mike and his staff many times over the years for something as small as checking for a gas leak, to installation of our tankless hot water system and re-plumbing our kitchen for a natural gas range instead of the electric on that we had previously. They...

"I was scheduled with United Plumbing between 5 and 8pm Dec. 23, 2024 to have a toilet installed. I tried to reach out to the number Angi sent me through Lowe’s 3 times to verify several days before the appointment, and those calls were all ignored. I got a text message from the owner “Nate” at 4:45 on the day of service asking if I was available. I called him less than 10 minutes later to tell him I was on my way to the job location, and he responded by telling me, “we don’t work after 5, so I parked my truck.” I was very confused by this since he tried to reach out to me under 10 minutes earlier. After several minutes of requesting that he fulfill his pre-scheduled appointment, and him refusing, I accepted his offer to come at 9 the next morning. I said “I’ll see you at 9, and hung up the phone.” Nate cancelled and refused to come, “because I hung up my phone.” What else was there to say?! The owner is very unprofessional, and should not be running a business!"

FAQs for gas log service projects in Anderson, TX
A gas log fireplace should be inspected and serviced as needed once a year. Preventative maintenance can help keep your fireplace in working condition and save money in the long run by avoiding more costly repairs on parts that could have been fixed sooner with a regular inspection.
The cost difference between a gas fireplace and a wood-burning fireplace depends on the type of wood-burning fireplace installed. The cost to install a gas fireplace tends to be cheaper than the cost to install a brick wood-burning fireplace. Installing a gas fireplace costs about $3,600 on average, whereas the cost to build a masonry wood-burning fireplace can go up to $30,000. The cost to install a wood-burning fireplace insert or stove can cost from $700 to $6,500, about the same as a gas fireplace on average.
The cost to repair a fireplace depends on the type, extent of repairs needed, and your location. The average cost to repair a fireplace varies depending on the part of the fireplace that needs work:
Firebox: $160–$2,500
Refractory panel: $200–$300
Hearth: $150–$800
Mantel: $500–$1,200
Pilot light: $100–$350
Igniter: $100–$150
Gas valve: $150–$300
Thermocouple: $75–$350
Thermopile: $75–$350
Yes, it can be worth installing a gas fireplace, depending on your home heating needs. The cost to install a gas fireplace can be much lower than the cost to install a comparable wood-burning fireplace. The convenience of starting a fire with the flip of a switch and turning it off just as quickly makes a gas fireplace a big time saver over starting and maintaining a wood-fueled fire. A gas fireplace also does not require ash cleanup or frequent chimney cleaning to remove creosote and other buildup that can lead to chimney fires. Gas fireplaces burn and heat much more cleanly than wood fireplaces.
A gas fireplace insert costs about $3,600 to install, on average. The cost to install a gas log insert ranges from about $700 to $6,500, depending on the size, type of insert, how it works, and heating needs. Gas fireplaces need electrical and gas lines installed properly, so hiring a pro is recommended rather than trying to DIY installation.
