Scott ExteriorsLesson learned the hard way: It's almost been a year since the big storm that hit parts of the Dallas area on 6/9/19. Straight line winds hit up to 85 mph in some areas. One area hit hard was our neighborhood in Lake Highlands. As clean up began the next day, it was evident that every house on our street was going to need a new roof. The door knockers offering discounts for new roofs were out in full force. One got my neighbor and I was invited over to the conversation. The next thing you know, paperwork was signed and a new roof was completed. Fast forward almost one year later: After the rainy season this spring began, I started noticing leaks appearing on the inside of our home. Instead of going back to the 'door knocker', I called up Scott Exteriors. A local Lake Highlands roofing company. The owner, Kirk Scott showed up the next day. After examining the work that had been done, it has been determined NONE of the flashing around all of our exhaust fans on the roof had been flashed correctly. Furthermore, the gutters were not hung correctly which has already caused water damage in the form of wood rot. The next day Scott Exteriors solved all of our problems with the roof. I can not recommend Scott Exterior's enough for all of your roofing needs. Get it done right the first time, and you will save thousands down the road. Jon Wright IndustriesThe project manager, David Votava, presented himself professionally to understand all the work details and answered all my questions. The provided work contract detailed all the agreed upon work and materials. Three windows were replaced with attention to proper alignment, caulking, and trimwork. I had new siding to replace the worn out siding on two kitchen windows. The soffit , fascia and drip edge around the roof was replaced while maintaining proper soffit venting. The seams were well fit and caulked.The carpentry work as well as quality of materials are excellent. The original 5 inch rain gutter was replaced with a 6 inch wide rain gutter with leaf guard and was neatly installed. The house was painted including some roof features using top quality paint. The paintjob had good coverage with clean trimwork. David is a hands on manager doing much of the work himself. He has had a lot of experience and pays great attention to details. Throughout the task, I was able to interact with him to discuss and workout various details. A final inspection walk around to takecare of any issues was performed before agreeing the project complete. All the debris was hauled away and the property was swept with a magnetic rake to pickup any nails. I am very satisfied with the job and would hire him and his crew again on other projects.- Thomas O.

Quality Tops Roofing IncI have been using AngiesList (now Home Advisors) to look for service providers over decades for performing maintenance of my house. The way I utilize the services is to look for the service provider that are in the “Super Service Award” category, with the most highest rating of “A” and “B” then scan a few “A” and “B” customer rating comments then moved to read much more comments for the “D” and “F” category. Even for top performers there are time hiccups do occur; it is how a company that remedies a short coming on the job that is important. I have seen a few companies that pushed back on legitimate customers’ complains or tried to shift blame rather than own up to the problems and remedied the situation. After my due diligence I found “Quality Tops Roofing” fits all my requirements for high quality of workmanship and good customer follow up. Following is a brief description of work and events during the roof installation: The work was done during the height of the Coronavirus pandemic of 2020. One of my requirements was minimum personal contact and the company follows the CDC guideline. “Quality Tops Roofing” met my requirements! The job was completed without in person to person meeting. Mr. Bruce Sabine, president of the company came surveyed the premise and next day he provided a contract and roofing tile brochure via attachment in an email. After confirmation of the terms and price of the contract in about a week’s time, the installation crew came and install the roof in a day. The next day the quality control team came and inspected the roof and communicated to me the installation passed inspection. Another team came the following Monday and replaced the leaf gutter screen in 3 hours with no issue. “Quality Tops Roofing” fixed a roof leak that my previous roofer could not fix. It has been haunting us for years and now it is fixed, much appreciated. If you are looking for a roofer, I highly recommend “Quality Tops Roofing, Inc”. Blanca first came out and gave us an estimate. She was very prompt, polite, and professional, and with great knowledge she answered all questions and made suggestions to improve the gutter system. She really took her time explaining everything about the work that would be done and broke down the estimate she proposed. On the day as promised, the work crew arrived promptly and performed the work as necessary. They finished the job in a day and a half, and work performed seemed to be very well done. I was very happy with the materials that they used as they appeared to be solid and well-constructed. The onsite crew was very polite and professional, and they also answered any questions that came up. Once the job was done, we were very happy with the work performed, but we had an issue with one of the down spouts. We called Blanca and asked her if she could have the crew come out and move it from the front of the house to the side. She mentioned that TX Gutters was very busy at the time, but she promised they would be out as soon as they could. A couple days later while I was bringing in groceries, I happened to notice that the down spout was moved to the requested spot on the side of the house. I was very impressed with this level of service and professionalism, and I was very grateful for this. I highly recommend TX Gutters for any such work, whether it is a complete job as I had, or for any repairs or modifications. They gave us a fair price, used good materials, and demonstrated professionalism all throughout this process. They also worked within our timelines as we had to postpone things a couple times due to various conflicts.
