"Melvin is in very way a gentleman along with his 2 assistants...courteous...punctual...professional...meticulous.They came in at 8:00 and worked til 6:00...laid out all the structure for the fence...the next morning...were back at 8:00 and hit it hard again finishing my entire fence line at 2:00 P.M. I'm hiring them again for my deck restoration. (HIGHLY) recommend Melvin Barnet and his fencing company for your next project as well as every future project. There's a reason why this gentleman has a 5 star rating. He EARNS it on every project. Did I Mention that when they left...they left EVERYTHING cleaner than they found it?"

"Dexperts did a wonderful job for us! They were referred to us by the company who built our deck. Ben came and did the consultation. Josh and Jordan did the stain project on our deck for us and we are very happy with the results. The color is beautiful and we hope to enjoy it for a long time! Thank you! ~Melissa Hugo"

"The deck feels solid. It adds so much to flow and use of property. The rain had delayed the start of it and the finish as well. They adjusted design as it was being built. Like moving steps to utilize the presents of a concrete slab in yard.and added skirting so my toy dog wouldn’t get stuck under there. Rodney was easy to work with and he was a good carpenter."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

You can enclose an open carport, however, there are several things to consider before opting to do so. You'll want to check local building codes and permit requirements before proceeding to make sure it’s legal. While you can sometimes stick-frame a carport enclosure, pre-fab kits are also available. Remember that you'll likely need to meet concrete slab regulations and provide lighting inside the structure. Both of which could substantially drive up costs.

Removing a load-bearing wall affects the structural integrity of your home, so you’ll need a permit before starting the work. Building codes vary by municipality, and obtaining a permit and having the work inspected after completion will ensure you’re in compliance with all applicable regulations.

Traditionally, bungalows are single-story homes, although having a half or partial story on top of the first floor is common. While adding a second story to a bungalow is certainly possible, the home would no longer be considered a bungalow by the strictest definition.

An A-frame home can be cheaper to build than a traditional house, but that is not always a given. Prices can be fairly similar in some cases, depending on the location, design, and necessary site preparation. Costs for an A-frame typically run between $100 to $200 per square foot, which is comparable to the cost of a traditional home. The cost of an A-frame can come in under those numbers if you opt for a prefabricated kit.

Converting a carport into a garage can vary in difficulty depending on its configuration, the condition of the foundation or slab, and its location relative to the house. The process has a lot in common with a home addition, but you can often skip non-essential finishes like fine flooring, trim work, or even drywall and HVAC. The conversion requires experience with drywall, insulation, and other building materials to ensure it’s done safely and correctly. While it might be possible for a DIYer with the proper tools and skills to do the work, it is a complicated and potentially dangerous job. If you’re new to basic construction, it's best to leave this project to the professionals.
