"The trees were removed as agreed to and the stumps ground.  The crew cleaned up all the debris including the stump chips, leaves, and sticks.  They repaired any damage to the lawn as well.  Other than the evidence where stumps used to be there the crew left the yard as they found it - very little saw dust and no other lawn damage.

"We hired them to cut down two large oak trees behind our house. Once the weather cooperated, they were able to get the job done in a timely manner. They were very nice to work with, and I was very confident in their knowledge of how to get the trees down without damaging our property. We will definitely hire them in the future."

"Blue Collar Boys Lawn and Landscaping mow and weed eat my yard twice a month. They are always here when they say they will be, always clean up the yard before they leave. I had some trees I needed taken down. They did that and cleared the debris. Because of my yard and the hill I live on, I can't get anyone to mow for me. I was lucky Blue Collar Boys did. They always do a good job. I am very pleased with there work and highly recommend them."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

You don’t always need a permit to grind a stump, but you might need one depending on your location and the stump’s surroundings. Permits are often needed if the stump is part of a protected tree species, near public areas or utility lines, or close to environmentally sensitive zones like wetlands. Some cities also regulate noise and work hours. Always check local rules before grinding, and contact your city or county office if you're unsure.

A tree branch should start to form roots in about three months. It can take about a year for a tree branch to develop roots strong enough to go in the ground. For best results, start several branches because, no matter how closely you follow instructions, they won’t all form roots. Compost any that aren’t thriving.

There are many signs that a tree is diseased or dying, and if you suspect that’s the case, you should call an arborist immediately. You might notice rot or fungus on the trunk or that the tree is beginning to lean to one side. Brittle branches or signs of root damage are other indicators that a tree is in trouble. If the tree is dying, it might be time to cut the tree down so it doesn’t fall.

Yes, you should trim the lower branches of your maple tree for safety. Trimming maple trees as they grow helps lift the crown and canopy and trains it to grow straight up. A good rule of thumb is to prune enough branches to leave 6 feet of clearance under the tree.

Yes, cutting a tree's roots can cause it to fall, particularly if major support roots are severed. In extreme cases, trimming roots can affect the tree's structure and stability. Many crucial roots are located just below the soil's surface. If you make severe cuts to roots more than 2 inches in diameter, you risk impacting the tree's water flow and its ability to withstand severe winds or storms. Even cutting roots less than half an inch in diameter under or outside the tree's canopy can cut off its water supply, causing it to decline, die, and eventually topple.
