"We live right across from a small park in our subdivision. ? Having critters decide to dig under our brick porch and?take up residence in the crawlspace is not an unusual occurence. ?You can take them away and there will always be more to take their place. This is the third time in five years we have needed Doug's help in removing the last intruders. Doug came out and set two live traps, one in the front of the house and a second in the back. ?The next morning, success! ?An opossum in the front trap and a young male raccoon in the back trap. ?He left traps in place for another five days and there were no other animals captured. The holes were filled with wire and concrete. ?Critters will have to find other places to dig next year!"

Animal Removal questions, answered by experts

Raccoons should be removed in most cases, especially when they’ve made their way indoors. Even if they seem harmless, raccoons are wild animals that can damage your property and potentially harm you, your family, and your pets. As soon as you notice signs of raccoons on your property, address the situation by securing your garbage and consulting a pro.

Scented mouse deterrents, like peppermint oil, can be effective in the short term. The pungent smells may temporarily repel mice, but they lose effectiveness as the scent fades or mice get used to it. The main drawbacks are frequent reapplication and the fact that these deterrents don't address the root cause of the infestation, such as entry points or food sources. While they can be part of a broader strategy, scented deterrents alone are rarely enough to eliminate a mouse problem.

Foxes can catch rabies. However, it is rare, and even rarer for them to pass this disease on to humans. If you do see a fox in your vicinity acting strangely, disorientated, having seizures, or randomly trying to bite, contact your local animal control, police, or Department of Environmental Control. And if you are scratched or bitten by an animal you suspect has rabies, seek medical treatment immediately.

When relocating, release a groundhog at least 5 miles from the capture site. This distance helps ensure that the groundhog does not return to your property. Make sure to relocate it to a suitable habitat, such as a wooded area or a place with plenty of ground cover, to increase its chances of survival without disrupting existing wildlife. Additionally, always check local regulations, as relocating wildlife may be restricted or require a permit in some areas.

Voles are pretty prolific breeders, managing to squeeze in 5 to 10 litters a year, and each litter usually has around 3 to 5 little ones. These furry creatures are flexible with their love lives, as they can breed all year round, though spring and summer are their prime times. If they're living it up in warmer areas, voles don't take a break and keep reproducing non-stop.
