"Bryan D helped me with my new house alarm. Bryan was friendly and pleasant to work with. He took his time and listened to my needs for my desired level of security. (I am quite the paranoid person when it comes to home security!) He is extremely knowledgeable and was informative and thorough on all aspects of security, from the system functionality to do-it-yourself enhancements around my home. He gave me a ton of great advice and I feel 110% at ease with my security system! I highly recommend you work with Bryan at Alarm protect group!!"

"Chris Cobble and his assistant from Advanced Security Concepts came to my home in Bristol, TN because I had problems with my older Security System. These men worked approximately 3.5 to 4 hours and completely installed a new ADT keypad, new siren, door contact, and 5 motion sensors. They did such an awesome job that I let them change the older security system in my work building. There is a new keypad, new siren inside and out, and a strobe light on the exterior business. I am completely satisfied with the work that they did for me. I would highly recommend Advanced Security Concepts to anyone needing a security system installed in a home or business!"

"Richie O and his partner did an amazing job. They were right on time. They quickly evaluated the situation and quickly did the work to ensure that my smoke detector was functioning. They were also extremely courteous throughout the entire process. I would give Go Heroes Home Services my highest possible recommendation. I trust this company completely to get the job done correctly."

"We had a good experience with Ken. He was very responsive from when I first called to even after the install. I would recommend First detect security. They have up to date and tech savvy options with alarm.com monitoring from web or phone app. They offered a better deal (with more included options) than ADT which is why we decided to go with this company. The systems works with z-wave so you can also add other sensors from the store to it which is nice. The only minor thing I could say is that there was no clean up after installation (as far as drywall debris from wall drilling) but this was not a big deal to us.

"Extremely happy with the installation of my security alarm system with outside cameras. Smart Home Technologies is very professional and will tailor a security system based on your individual needs. They took the time to explain how everything works and operates. When I wanted to make changes and additions to my system they were very accommodating and scheduling was a breeze. My only regret was that I did not have Smart Home Technologies install my security system sooner."

Home Security Systems questions, answered by experts

A deadbolt differs from a regular lock in its design, construction, and security level. Regular locks are typically used for interior doors, such as for bedrooms and bathrooms, and provide minimal security. They are easy to install and use, often featuring a simple locking mechanism on the inside. In contrast, a deadbolt is one of the most secure locks you can install on an exterior door. Its internal construction is designed to withstand significant force, adding a crucial layer of security that can deter intruders. While deadbolts may be more expensive and complicated to install, they are cost-effective for the security they provide and are built to hold up to wear and tear.

There is no “better” option, as it depends on your personal preferences and home’s needs. Wireless systems are much easier to install, making them DIY-friendly. Wired systems offer a more reliable connection that is not tied to a router, but they typically require professional installation.

Yes, it's possible for hackers to access wireless security cameras by guessing or stealing passwords. Additionally, your camera's cloud content can also be hacked. Finally, some criminals use Wi-Fi signal jammers to disable wireless cameras.

A study from the University of North Carolina found that security system signs were one of the top ten deterrents for burglars when choosing a target, so they do have some effect. However, you can get into legal trouble for putting up fake signage, so it’s best only to put up signs when you have the alarms to back them up.
