"Professional product and work. Prior to paving, installed a base that will ensure the driveway will handle loaded vehicles without damaging the paved surface. Other quotes I got only wanted to lay down a light surface of crush n run and pave over it. Tuckers layed and packed down 3 layers of various size stone then paved. "James Hutcheson of JandA Asphalt pressure-washed and sealed our aggregate driveways and porches and also sealed our asphalt drive. This is a 15-unit condo complex so it was a pretty big job. He and his crew always showed up on time and did what they said they would. The workmanship was excellent and the price was very reasonable. James was very responsive and creative in solving the few issues that always present themselves with a job this size. If pavers are uneven but not sunken, lift the affected bricks and check the bedding sand underneath. In many cases, simply smoothing out or adjusting the sand is enough to level them. Add or remove small amounts as needed, then press the pavers back into place and tap them with a mallet until they sit evenly with the surrounding surface.

You’ll first need to install a base underneath your pavers for extra stability and drainage. Otherwise, the pavers can sink into the ground, and you’ll have to reinstall them. Use a base gravel layer of 4 to 6 inches for walkways and 10 to 12 inches for driveways. Compact your gravel layer every 2 to 4 inches so it’s nice and solid. After you install your gravel base, apply a 1-inch layer of sand on top.

As you’re working, be careful not to disturb surrounding pavers; the key is to work slowly and steadily and remove the broken pieces gently. You should also wear a mask and goggles to ensure that no dust gets into your eyes, nose, or mouth as you work.
