We sell & service woodburning, gasburning & pelletburning appliances. We service & install everything we sell. We have been cleaning chimneys since 1978 & are CSIA certified sweeps. Dryer vent cleaning starts at $75.00 - depending on the situation. Air duct cleaning is priced by how many registers & returns you have- call for quote. Chimney cleaning depends on what you have & where you are located - starting at $155. We service all of West Tenn; Northeast Mississippi; & the Caruthersville, Mo area. Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

Only yellow Teflon tape is approved for use on gas lines. Also called yellow PTFE tape, it is thicker and specifically rated for use on natural gas and propane connections. Standard white Teflon tape is not safe for gas applications. If you have questions about sealing gas line connections, contact a pro like a gas line contractor or plumber who installs or runs gas lines.

In most cases, a gas stove should be installed by a licensed plumber. Connecting gas appliances carries many risks, chief among them a fatal gas leak. If your home is already set up with the proper gas hookups, you may be able to DIY the installation (or save money by hiring a local handyperson or basic appliance installer near you rather than a plumber). If you’re ever in doubt, however, we recommend going with a professional master plumber.

When hiring a plumber to install or repair gas pipes, consider asking them the following questions: 

  • Do you have insurance and a professional license to do the job? 

  • How long will the project take to complete? 

  • Will I need to hire additional professionals for excavation or landscaping? 

  • Do you have references from previous clients? 

  • Do you belong to any relevant trade associations? 

Yes, it’s possible to convert an oil furnace to gas. However, you may have to replace the furnace completely instead of simply converting it. If the original oil furnace has had any type of damage or is older (typically considered over 15 years old), then you will likely need a full replacement versus a conversion.

You may want to remove the gas line if it’s unsightly or if it’s causing a problem with future appliances. The downside is if you decide to go back to gas, you would need to run a new gas line to the area.  The average cost to run a new gas line is $550, but the installation can range anywhere from $120 to $1,350.
