We sell & service woodburning, gasburning & pelletburning appliances. We service & install everything we sell. We have been cleaning chimneys since 1978 & are CSIA certified sweeps. Dryer vent cleaning starts at $75.00 - depending on the situation. Air duct cleaning is priced by how many registers & returns you have- call for quote. Chimney cleaning depends on what you have & where you are located - starting at $155. We service all of West Tenn; Northeast Mississippi; & the Caruthersville, Mo area. We sell & install Centurion Stone & Pearl mantels. We also install gasline to hearth products. We do all the work ourselves. We are a family owned business.

"We are sorry that this gentleman had such a bad experience with our company. He is correct that the guys weren't as prepared as they should have been when they got there. However, there was a reason. The guys truck broke down that morning & they had to swap everything to another vehicle. They missed getting the hammer drill swapped over. That was our fault. However, we did not volunteer to come back on Sunday. The gentleman pretty much demanded that we return on Sunday. We service all of West Tennessee outside of Memphis, & some there also, beside a small amount of a few other states. We are the only ones around, so we get very very backed up this time of year. We do not have as many crews working for us this year. It is very hard to find people that you can trust to send into peoples homes & that we can get trained properly to ensure that the work is done right. That crew has been working 6 days a week for the last 2 months. I think they deserve 1 day off a week! When the gentleman called the office, all 3 times, he was told that we would have to schedule a new time to come down there because we are still backed up through the end of January. Also, we were concerned about doing the other work for him after we talked to him again. He was very demanding about wanting thimbles taken out & the brick fixed back so that you would not be able to tell that there had ever been thimbles there. That is next to impossible to do. And, that is what we told him. We told him we could not guarantee that kind of look. We are not brick masons! He was only charged for the chimney sweep that we did. That is all he paid for. There is nothing for us to refund to him. We would have only charged him for the other work after we completed it. When he called to schedule the job, we informed him that an insert sweep in Selmer was $245 & that we would have to charge for the other repairs by the time it took us to complete it. That type of work is not an exact science. We can never tell exactly how much time it will take. Sorry, we have been in this business for 37+ years, we have not been able to figure an exact price for that type of work in all this time. There are just too many variables. I am very sorry for the distress that we apparently caused this gentleman. There was nothing intentional about it. We are a small family business. That is all we have ever been. We do try to get to all of our customers in as timely a manner as we can. However, as I said before, we getting schedule way ahead this time of year. And, this year has been exceptional. We have been backed up 4-6 weeks ahead since October. We really did intend to finish the work for this gentleman when we scheduled it. I know it is no excuse, but, sometimes "snafus" happen. We really appreciate all of our customers being willing to work with us & allow us time to fix our problems when they happen. We have not been back to Selmer since that day. We are scheduling a day in Selmer the second week of February. However, as I said, I am not sure that we will ever be able to satisfy this gentleman. And, if we cannot, we would rather just let him get someone else to fix the brick for him, who could do the job as he expects it to be done."

Jim and his son Jacob installed a Travis Industries fireplace insert with and quot;Greensmart.and quot; It basiclly functions like a furnace maintaining the temprature you set, or you can set it manualy and have it on. Has an accent light that is dimable and two adjustable flames, one you can turn off. Adjustable blower too.
They arrived around 1045 and were done around 4. I enjoyed talking with them as they worked, they were very curtious, professional and concerned with providing us with a top notch product installed to our satisfaction, which they did. They took care to not make a mess of the house nor tear up anything. They made sure it was done right.
You will get to meet the rest of the family when you go to the showroom in Jackson TN. This family treats you like they want your business and appreciate it. It's nice supporting a family business. They delivered the product for the price they quoted and on time.

"I am very sorry that we did not get back with you when we were supposed to. It is no excuse, but, that was right in the time when our building where we were located was pulled out from under us. We had been renting for a long time & they gave us 2 months notice to be out. We had to find another building & renovate it & get moved all in July & August of that year. So, so, sorry! I came home today (three days later) and was surprised to find an invoice on my door and a cap on my chimney. They must have paid for expedited shipping on the new cap, but the invoice was for the price they had originally quoted me. I did think it was a little odd that they didn't call to say they were going to install it today, but I appreciate that they went the extra mile to quickly correct their error. The chimney cap looks nice.

control. I couldn't get in touch with them directly and that was frustrating, but the office continued to pick up and relay messages and updates. I'm not in the house yet--no phone and I guess they didn't have my cell. At one point I became aware that even my cell was not available in the remote, wooded location. I later learned that they had been leaving messages on my current home phone. Once at the location, however, they were apologetic, friendly and professional. They were very knowledgeable and helpful with my many questions as a first time owner of this type of fireplace. They also advised me about proper operation and maintenance. Not a speck of dust, dirt or ash was left. I could not have been more pleased. They were so nice that I hesitated to mark them down on punctuality, but they were very late. I would definitely have them come out again and will always recommend them to friends.

They sent over two guys who were nice and quiet. They asked me what exactly I needed them to do and then they got off to work. About 2 hours or so later, not only had they cleaned the pipe to pristine quality, they also had retrieved the broken tool I had used! They cleaned up great after themselves, provided me a receipt of their work done, and were on their way.
I would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs their dryer vent cleaned. While the tools they sell on the informercials and in the big box stores LOOK like they will work, it is evident after a professional's TWO hours spent on the problem that it was a smart move calling in they Chimney Doctors.
