Firehouse Chimney aka Seymour Chimney Cleaning was started in 1983 by my father and brother, Al and Mark Leitch, Dad saw a need for a local sweep due to the high number of chimney fires in the community. Al is a 30 year veteran with the local fire department. Now I (Kent, Al's youngest son) have managed and operated the company since 2000. I work full time at the City of Knoxville Fire Dept and attend church at Calvary Chapel Church. Our first priority is safety, 2nd is affordability. We treat people like we would want our grandparents treated, with kindness and respect. The customer is right. We always appreciate any feedback, whether good or bad, it helps us improve and grow. We are a debt free company that is family owned and operated with help from selected firefighters and paramedics. We offer free inspections in the Seymour / south Knox area. "We expanded a ground floor family room, which required complete exterior and interior construction, with stacked stone to match existing exterior. Existing plumbing, electrical, and duct work had to be moved around. The room has a 5x10 closet with pull-down attic door and insulted attic above. A bay build-out added space to our dining room, and we added a walk-in pantry to the kitchen. Materials were included in the total price but not broken out. The contractor underestimated either the amount of stone needed or the cost of the (available) stone required to match the existing exterior. He covered about $400 of the additional materials cost; we covered about $1000 at his request. Lesson learned: In the contract, stipulate the dollar amount designated for special materials. Other than that and some slow downs due to occasional absent workers, the job went as planned and we're happy with the result. We appreciated the daily clean-up as it was a lengthy project and just living with the upheaval was at times a challenge. Mark had a cleaning crew come one weekend to help keep things in order."

Eddie came out personally, got on our icy roof, found the problem and spent a day on the roof fixing it. What can you say about someone so willing to help his customers!"
