"Trevor has been an amazing contractor who has helped us through the process of installing a large interior door for an office. He has helped ensure the space was properly prepared for installation of the door. The other contractors who have assisted Trevor have also exceeded my expectations. They have been extremely detail oriented and have done everything to ensure the best outcome. I would definitely work with Trevor for any future projects."

"I was very impressed with the professionalism and knowledge of both the owner and the person working for him. They were very meticulous and went the extra mile to make sure I was happy with the final product. The product I purchased was essentially one of a kind and very few people in the state have it due to them being the only distributor in Southern California. Many Christmas seasons I was up on the roof putting up lights and having to take them down over and over again. This last Christmas I almost fell out the roof and I realized that it was no longer worth it. With the perminent lights I never have to worry about being on the roof ever again. The owner of the company Roger is an electrical engineer and a contractor and is very knowledgeable and meticulous. I would recommend his services to anyone"

"This company is top notch. It went great. Straight A's to Brad Horner of Horner Construction and his employees. He listened to our ideas and respected our budget and came up with a great design that was affordable and much better than the previous deck that was on the house when we bought it. They began when they said they would and were finished when they said they would be. You can tell that quality craftsmanship and great customer service are very important to Horner Construction. Mr. Horner stayed in communication with us the whole time. Very professional and courteous. I will definitely use them again and will be recommending them to my friends and family. We now have a beautiful deck that we can enjoy for years to come."

"They did an excellent job. My wife and I were away for some of the time they were painting. I saw a couple of spots that needed a touch-up and they came back and did that promptly. I bought the paint using there contract number with the paint company.

"This job went great. Justin and Mike started early and finished the job in one day. This small bathroom remodel involved removing the water heater, toilet, sink and removing and replacing three layers of wet sub floor. New high quality LVP floor was installed over new sub flooe, tub was brought back to level and all fixtures were re-installed. Great job, done correctly in a timely manner. Definitely will hire again."

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

When deciding if you should use 2x6 or 2x8 deck joists, consider the size of the deck, joist spacing, and materials. Larger decks, larger-spaced joists, and weaker wood all require more support, meaning they need larger joists. For example, 2x8 redwood joists spaced 16 inches apart can only safely span up to 10 feet and 7 inches. On the other hand, 2x10 southern pine joists spaced 12 inches apart can be as big as 16 feet and 2 inches. If you aren’t sure what size joist is best for your project, speak with your deck builder.

Costs depend on desk size, labor, included features like drawers or motorized height adjustments, and required wall anchoring.

Accurate measurements, sturdy materials, and seamless integration with other structures.

The easiest way to tell if a wall is load bearing is to check if it’s an exterior wall or if it runs perpendicular to the joists above and below it (or parallel to beams). Exterior walls are almost always load-bearing, and walls that run under beams or parallel to them are also usually load-bearing. There are exceptions to these rules, and walls that don’t fit into these categories can still be load-bearing. If you’re unsure, hire a structural engineer to look at your home to assess whether or not the wall is structural.

While framing a basement is not as difficult as finishing a basement, it's something you should typically leave to the pros. That’s because if something is installed correctly, it will affect your entire basement. However, you can take care of some of the smaller tasks, like filling holes or putting up some insulation.
