"I highly recommend Darrow heating & Cooling. Chad was very knowledgeable, and through with explaining the problem and gave me a clear plan for what he would do to repair the HVAC Packaged Unit. I feel Darrow is honest and trustworthy. When I called Darrow, they were on site the next day and paired the unit the same day because they had the parts needed on their truck. Prior to calling Darrow, I had a different company from my Residential Warranty company who sent a tech who said he needed to replace the compressor and blower motor. I did not feet the other company were being honest. They were going to replace parts that did not need to be replaced. Darrow has the proper testing equipment to show that the compressor and blower motor were not defective. With other testing equipment, Darrow was able to locate the problem; the single run and dual run capacitors were defective. Instead of paying $2,800 with the other dishonest company; Darrow repaired our HVAC Packaged Unit for just a few hindered dollars. I am very pleased with Darrow and will call upon then again should I have other HVAC or Electrical needs."

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

When planning a general remodeling project, it's important to define the scope of work, understand your goals, and set a clear, detailed budget. You should also assess the current structure and consult with professionals like architects or contractors. Create a realistic timeline for each phase, obtain any necessary permits, and build in contingency plans for potential delays or unforeseen issues. Regular communication with all involved parties is crucial to streamline the process.

The only real drawback to green building is that it’s more expensive up front, with per-square-foot prices sitting 33% higher than what you’d pay to build a traditional home. The higher cost is due to more expensive building materials and more labor to ensure every aspect of the home is as efficient as possible. However, green buildings often save money in the long run, so this is just a temporary downside.

The most common scale for residential blueprints is 1/4 of an inch equals one foot. This scale is the most popular because it’s easier for everyone involved, from professionals to homeowners, to understand the building’s actual dimensions. Also, it allows blueprints to have the necessary details without cluttering the page.

If your project is complex, it may make sense to hire an architect to draw plans. An architect might also be a good person to hire if you want to ensure your plans adhere to building codes and regulations.

Yes, designing builds to fit space constraints and meet functional needs.
