"I can't recommend Plumbing Authority enough. I had a sewer line blockage cleaned out recently and they did it well and for a fraction of the cost of $99 vs $800 what I paid another company in December. Beware of companies that charge a service fee and will not divulge their basic serve charges no matter how well rated on Angi. I was in a bind and paid their inflated price because it was days before Christmas. Sadly the line wasn't fully cleared by tge other company. Plumbing Authority will always be my first choice from now on."

"I am beyond ecstatic and satisfied with Gardner Plumbing. I didnâ t really know what to do when our sewer had backed up and called around multiple places trying to get something done same day. All the other places I have called that have been in business a while acted like they didnâ t care about the issue and would get to it when they could. Gardner Plumbing sent out a technician named â Fredâ that I would highly recommend. Extremely professional and let me know that roots had grown through our sewer line. He gave me multiple options to fix it but we decided to replace our sewer line to keep any future worries away. The price was awesome and I honestly cannot describe any better experience than what I had. Thank you guys very much for all of your help!"

"1 Tom Plumber did an outstanding job on my main sewer line. The team arrived on time, explained the hydro jet process clearly, and worked efficiently to get everything flowing again. They were polite, professional, and respectful of my property, taking the extra steps to protect surrounding areas and leaving the space clean when finished. I’m very pleased with the results, and the drain line is running perfectly. I would absolutely hire them again and recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy plumbing company. Highly recommended."

"I had to review this company a 2nd time just to give credit to both guys that came out to help. I just bought a house and unfortunately for me the plumbing problems were worse than anticipated. KJ was the first to come out and did a great job for his part. Very professional, very polite, was even kind enough to have consideration for my child being asleep in the next room. Couldn't have asked for a better tech. Had a such a great experience that when a separate issue arose I called them back. Jesse was the 2nd tech. That man is very thorough and determined. He pinned down the root of the problem, explaining every step of the process. No one is happy spending a lot of money on plumbing but he saw to it that I got the best price, there was financing available so that was very helpful. And he stayed until the job was finished. A total of 6 hours, long into the night after sun had set still toiling away in the backyard so I wouldn't be stuck with no toilet. What a class act. Even put booties on his feet to protect my carpet. Truly above and beyond service. Thank you to this whole company for making a lousy thing like busted plumbing into a pleasant interaction with their great crew! Y'all are truly Rockstars."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

No, you should not see water in a sewer cleanout. If you do, it could indicate that you have a block or leak in your main sewer line—which can cause sewage to back up inside your home and potentially flood your yard. Your best bet is to call a local sewer cleaner if you notice any water or sewage around your cleanout.

Even with a high-resolution camera, what you're looking at on the screen may not be recognizable to the untrained eye. Your plumber should be willing to walk you through the video and explain what they found. With high-res images, bright lighting, and self-leveling technology, you should get clear, steady views of the pipes that make up your plumbing system.

Yes, sewage smells can originate from a floor drain. If the P-Trap in the floor drain dries out or if there's a clog or other issue in the plumbing system, sewer gasses can escape through the drain, causing nasty odors. Regularly pouring water into the drain helps maintain the water seal and prevent those smells, but if the smell persists, you should have a plumbing professional inspect the drain for potential problems.

Regardless of the drain cleaner type you choose to use, they all work through chemical reactions that create heat. Thanks to the heat, the clogged hair begins to dissolve until it is able to be flushed away. To avoid clogs in your drain due to hair, use hair catchers and empty them out after every shower.

Knowing the signs can alert you to a clogged drain line. Clogs cause slow drainage or cause no drainage (if there’s a complete blockage). You may also notice foul odors, gurgling noises, water backing up in other appliances on the same line, or a poorly flushing toilet. If you experience any of these issues and think your line might be clogged, call a plumber.
