"I had an old brick chimney that was deteriorating quickly. Many of the bricks were crumbling and falling apart. There were also white stains over much of the chimney. Being on the front of my house it was a big eye sore and quickly becoming a safety hazard.  I got Rocky's information from Angie's list and gave him a call. He came out the next Saturday for a free consultation and estimate. I could tell from the beginning that he knew his stuff. He explained that the bricks were spalling due to freeze and thaw cycles. Due to the cracked chimney cap, water was getting into the bricks and causing them to crumble and break off in sheets. This was also causing the ugly white stains. Unfortunately, my house is older and finding replacement bricks would be impossible. We decided my best option would be to do a stucco coat over the chimney. He quoted me a price on the spot and drew up a contract the next week and emailed it to me to review. He had several jobs lined up before me and told me it would be a few weeks. Sure enough a few weeks later he called me to advise he was ready to start that Monday.
The repairs consisted of screwing wire lathe to the whole chimney with mason screws and then applied two coats of stucco, giving adequate time to dry in between. He also chiseled off the old chimney cap and replaced with a  sloped concrete cap with sealant on top. The stucco color he used was a perfect match to the brick mortar on the rest of the house. The stucco looks fantastic --nicely squared on the corners with the traditional stucco pattern/design. The chimney looks great. Rocky was very professional and easy to work with. He did exactly as he promised with no problems at all and at a very reasonable price. I would recommend Rocky for any masonry work needed.

Chimney Liner Installation questions, answered by experts

Pool liners are important for several reasons. They can help minimize algae growth, since algae can grow quickly on porous wall panel materials, like gunite. The pool liner is also important for pools with metal wall panels, to keep pool users safe from touching hot metal. These liners can help contain the water, especially for above ground pools, and can also simply add a decorative touch to your swimming pool.

Yes, you can DIY a pool liner, with careful planning, measuring, adherence to a step-by-step process, and a few helping hands to get the job done. Keep in mind that the type of pool liner you choose could impact how easy it is for you to install. For example, beaded and J-hook liners hook to the edges of the pool either via an allotted bead receiver or hook. Overlap liners don’t use clips and can easily drape across your pool frame without an exact fit.

Installation typically takes 4-8 weeks, including site preparation and liner installation.

Clean regularly, balance water chemistry, and inspect for tears or wrinkles in the liner.

Typically 1-3 days, depending on pool size and complexity.
