"Had ceramic tile installed. Installers tracked grout into newly installed wood floors, used my personal broom and bucket, still have not completed to last bit of installation after two weeks, baseboard has several areas installed incorrectly - huge gaps. Called empire about situation. They advised a install supervisor would call. After a week, still no call. Hardwood floor installers were great...no issues."

"They were alright.  They were just really quick.  They ran around the house and looked at all the toilets, faucets and water fixtures.  They gave me a brief explanation of what they say as potential issues.  They tried to sell more service or product.  They ended selling us a garbage disposal unit.  It was expensive and the labor was as well.  I paid another $500 on top of the Big Deal to rebuild a toilet and install a new garbage disposal.  They just replaced the gasket on the toilet.  They replaced something on the water heater as well.  We had a few leaks after they left."

Ideally, you should remove tile before installing hardwood floors, but there are good reasons not to. Removing stubborn tile can be a labor-intensive job that adds days to the project. The subfloor beneath the tiles could also be damaged during the process, meaning you’d have to repair the subfloor before installing the new hardwood floor. 

Like any painted surface, tile paint can peel and chip over time. However, tile paint can become especially susceptible to peeling during periods of high humidity. For glass tile, you want to use unsanded grout. Sanded grout is a stronger and grittier cement grout that is great for installing tiles with wider gaps and into joints. Unsanded grout, while more expensive, is easier to fit between thin gaps and is less harsh on delicate materials, like glass tile.
