This star is more for Angi than the company. Looking for an addition but this firm has shifted to only full home construction. When asked for a referral to someone who could do additions, they were not helpful. You can’t tell me that a former employee who left on good terms could not be worthy of your referral to help them with their business. Surely being in business for 30 years your firm has contacts with other contractors or may even belong to a builders league or guild where referrals are often shared. Smh.

We began the building process of our new home in December of 2015 and move in in July 2016. I decided to not post negative reviews at the time because I had been so distraught during the process I just wanted to forget about the whole process and move on but today is the day to leave the review. The entire home building process was a nightmare from the beginning to end. The first issue was with basement door framed out to the wrong size, installed and charged for retaining walls without any communication to us after we specifically stated we did not want retaining walls. We had several windows and doors not centered properly. They installed the wrong tile in guest bathroom. And these were just a few of the issues we had during the build. I guess the one main issue was with the owner of the company and the way we were treated. We were told to not go to the home everyday and look for mistakes and any mistakes would be taken care at the end of the process. He locked us out of our own home and would not let us in to see what was going on until he received his final payment. He wanted the final payment before the house was completed. It was an issue everyday of something being done wrong or him treating us terrible. We did not have one change order in the home but he kept telling us that he had $30,000 of his own money in this home. Now I am posting this today, 6 years later because we decided to have the metal replaced on all our door frames due to the metal work being so bad. After removing the metal wrapping we found all the garage doors and man doors to be rotting and all the door frames are going to have to be replaced after only 6 years. Please beware!!!!!

In September 2019, I hired Reliable Building Services to build my wife and I a new house in Greeneville TN. BIG, BIG MISTAKE. During construction, my wife and I were locked out-of-our house even when workers were not on site, owner threatened to have my wife and I arrested for trespassing while we were inside our house that was left open, owner bragged about being sued. During the early stages of the construction process, we ran into problems such as one of our great room windows was not centered, the toilet in our master bathroom was not centered, one of our interior doors was installed in such a manner that it would not open or close in the right direction, a section of wall in our kitchen had to be removed as the wall was to long and our refrigerator door would not open all the way. Prior to moving in, Reliable Building Services informed my wife and I that our new house was turn key ready and therefore the owner wanted his final draw. Unfortunately, when we moved in, our new house was not turnkey ready as there were some 26 construction related problems that still needed to be fixed. After we moved in, we discovered that a wall in our great room was full of huge gouges, the same wall in our great room was bowed, a wall in our foyer area was bowed, our patio sliding glass door frame was bowed, numerous windows had to be replaced as they were full of scratches, the window in our front door was full of scratches, we had cracks in the ceilings of our master bathroom, kitchen and a bedroom, laundry room cabinet came loose from the wall and had to be replaced, our foundation drainage pipes were buried, water problems in crawl space, water leaking out of our soffit. In addition to these construction related problems, Reliable Building Services could not get our gas fireplace lit as it failed to properly vent the unit, while repairing the bow in our patio sliding glass door, Reliable Building Services did not color match the grout when it replaced the brick that it took out, while installing our patio sliding glass screen door, the worker tore the screen and left without saying anything to us. As a means of fixing these construction related problems, most, if not all, were being worked on while my wife and I were living in our new house. Not knowing from one day to another if Reliable Building Services was coming back to fix these issues, my wife and I went through **** (and still are) as it took Reliable Building Services months and months to fix these problems. On occasions Reliable Building Services would send 1 worker to the house who worked for an hour then left. On occasions Reliable Building Services would send workers to the house without any advance notice and on 1 occasion Reliable Building Services sent a worker to the house who had no idea as to what he was supposed to do, so he left. Months and months of having to deal with workers coming to the house to fix construction related problems that Reliable Building Services created themselves, I filed a complaint with the Tennessee Department of Consumer Affairs in early January 2021. In July 2021, the owner of Reliable Building Services entered into a Consent Order agreement with the state. According to the FINDINGS OF FACT section of the Consent Order," Based on the evidence collected", Reliable Building Services did not appropriately respond to my request in fixing problems as there were several weeks and months in which my request went without response. The owner of Reliable Building Services "Admitted to the foregoing FINDINGS of FACT and ultimately fined. As of this review, I still have construction related problems which Reliable Building Services agreed to fix which have not yet been resolved. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND RELIABLE BUILDING SERVICES to anyone.

Reliable Building is anything but. Horrible customer service, sloppy workmanship, and very very poor management. We are almost to the end of our “one year warranty,” and we still can’t get people to show up to our house to fix what they originally screwed up. This company has been nothing but a headache and an inconvenience. Some contracted workers were great, but overall working with this company has been one headache after another. Unless you enjoy paying thousands of dollars to be ignored and for house projects that don’t function, my advice is find someone else. “Reliable” is more than happy to take your money and leave you with inferior results.

I cannot speak more highly of this crew at Reliable Building Services Inc. Extremely professional from beginning to end. We definitely recommend them and plan to use RBS in the future.

At the time they did that work for us they did a fantastic job. They were punctual and thorough. However on the downside we asked them to give us an estimate for an addition and they never got back to us. We were pretty disappointed about that. That was after the original work as done.

They did not even bothered to return my calls!

Put it to small of a unit and they knew it and refused to replace it with the right one. They do not guarantee their work. You will make a huge mistake if you hire this company for anything a very huge mistake. Plus it took them over a year to get anywhere in their work.

It could not have gone better. They pulled the walls back in and secured them making me feel very safe! They removed the wall and created the space I was looking for. In my opinion...if you need help with your home or want to build a new one...you seriously need to call Reliable Builders!! Billy worked very hard to put together a plan I could really wrap my arms around. When we agreed what would work for my situation (and believe me when I say there were MANY challenges with this house), they came out and within two days they completed the work. They were very professional, polite and talented. Hats off to Reliable Builders!! Thank you gentlemen!! You rock!

I've previously had electrical work done on my home. I thought they were fair and they did an excellent job. However, I've called several times for different jobs such as coming out to replace new gutters as well as installing additional ceiling fans/electrical work. They never returned my calls. I've called again to follow up and they said someone will be calling me. Till this day, no one has contacted me. I understand businesses are busy and things can get hectic but please don't call your business "Reliable Building Services" when someone doesn't take the time to call back. A simple "I'm sorry, but we are extremely busy. Our next opening is...." I would have completely been ok with that. I give them a lousy in regards to their professionalism and responsiveness.

Many things were done poorly and many things left undone. They refused to correct the problems despite being paid for their services.

Reliable Building provided a free estimate and came out in a timely manner and performed the work exactly as quoted. They worked worked with the local inspectors to insure everything was up to code prior to completing the job. My wife and I were very pleased with the work performed and we would hesitate to call on Reliable Building again.

Reliable Building Services were very professional and courteous when it came to our home addition. They took their time to make sure everything was done correctly and went out of their way to fix prior mistakes from other contractors. The owner David was just a phone call away and although a busy man, would be able to meet with us within an hour. We are very pleased with the work they have done and would hire them for all of our building needs.
