Hardy Counters & Floors specializes in Resinous Coatings and Concrete Polishing and Staining. We are located on the Eastern side of South Dakota and service the entire 5 state area. Our trained staff has experience in Epoxies, Polyaspartics, Polyurias, Urethanes, Sealers, Densifiers, Dyes, Acid Stains, Concrete Overlays and more! Hardy's owner Chad Leddy grew up in Watertown SD and has been contracting for over 10 years. As the industry has grown so has Chad and his staff. Polymer coatings are very durable and cost efficient but take a lot of knowledge and experience to use them and apply them correctly. Through the years we have continued to educate ourselves and have been certified in many manufactures products and application techniques. The equipment we use is efficient and HEPA certified and recognized as some of the top brands in the industry.

Billing is usually 1/3 down, 1/3 half finished and the rest upon completion for larger jobs. Smaller projects are usually paid upon completion. Special arrangements can be made if need be. You can pour concrete over asphalt if it’s in good condition, thick, stable, and well-compacted. Concrete is more durable than asphalt and can extend the lifetime of your driveway without having to pay frequent asphalt driveway repair costs or replace it completely. 

But this is best reserved as a temporary solution based on budget restraints, as asphalt requires more frequent repairs and assessments than concrete. Once that concrete top is poured, it’ll be harder to accurately understand what’s happening beneath that layer, which could lead to more issues.

The ideal base for concrete is even, firm, and permeable to encourage drainage. Depending on your project's weight requirements, a combination of gravel, sand, or other aggregates is best. While you can technically pour concrete over grass, dirt, or an old piece of concrete, you risk threatening the concrete's stability.
