"It's been awhile since I hired Callie, kept meaning to come back and do a review. I hired C & J for a holiday cleaning, and was thrilled when she was able to do it right away. Callie did a good job. She's a hard worker and is thorough. There were two things that I was a little disappointed with. The cleaner she used left a film on everything. I had to go back over mirrors, and shiny surfaces to remove the film. The second was the travel charge. I understand if she drives out of town needing to recoup her gas, but wow...I could have just filled her gas tank and it would have been way cheaper than the travel charge. It was a bit of sticker shock for me when she gave me the bill. All in all, I was satisfied with the work, but due to that high travel charge it is not worth it for me to hire again. I'll just find someone in my area."

"Micah is an excellent on task contractor, always on time and productive. He's very quick at resolving any possible material or project changes. We've found Micah to be very reliable, trustworthy and honest to work with. He's been a real pleasure in a time when you're lucky to even get a phone call back from a contractor. Would most certainly hire him again!"

Floor Polishers questions, answered by experts

Before starting on a full refinishing project, determine if your floors need to be completely sanded down to the bare wood or if the damage is shallow and mostly cosmetic. Deep scratches and gouges will require you to rough sand using a drum sander or belt sander, but small surface scratches or floors that have only lost their luster don’t need a complete overhaul. Instead, you can skip the rough sanding step and sand-screen the old finish with a buffer, removing only the top layer of polyurethane.

Like any other type of flooring, you will need to keep up with regular maintenance on your epoxy floors to keep them in the best shape possible; however, it is not like hardwood floors inside a house, which require special care and more consistent maintenance.

Just make sure you use the right cleaning tools and solutions. Avoid using harsh tools like scrub brushes or hard-bristled brooms. You should also skip cleaners that are highly acidic, including white vinegar.

If you’re cleaning or repairing laminate floors, avoid anything abrasive like heavy-grit sandpaper or steel wool. Because the image layer is protected by a topcoat, the image layer is more vulnerable to scratches and damage if the topcoat is damaged. And if the image layer is scratched, it can reveal the wood fiber core.

The cost for professional floor cleaning is $250 on average. This cost can range from $100 to $1,500, depending on the type of flooring and its square footage.

For example, natural stone flooring requires specialized techniques and care, so you'll spend closer to the higher end of the cost range. The cost of cleaning tile and grout is more cost-effective, where you'll pay an average of $0.50 to $3.50 per square foot.

Before installing shoe molding, evaluate redoing or refinishing any floors and painting your walls or baseboard before putting on your shoe molding. If you don’t already have baseboard trim, you should install that before adding shoe molding. Shoe molding is the final touch. Additionally, a carpenter or other professional that’s installing shoe molding might also give you a deal on installing crown molding and replacing other trim if you get them done at the same time.
