"I had the pleasure of working with Frankie and his team. They took down 2 large trees and top off 2 magnolias trees. They were reasonably priced and the crew did an awsome job. They left the job site clean and were easy to work with. I highly recommend them any tree services you may need."

Customers say: Quick response

"I started working with Peter in 2021. After meeting with several Tree Removal Co's (Including PW Tree Service) I chose to work with Peter and his team. My project was a fairly large one that would span several years, and include removing 22 large Pine Trees (some over 80 Ft, all over 70ft). Its been 4 years and the project is almost done (19 Pines have been removed in total) Peter and his team just removed 5 more Pine Trees this week 05/03/2024. Their skill and professionalism are greatly appreciated. There has been no damage to my property. All debris is cleared from my property, stumps are ground until there is nothing visible above ground, and i'm never left with any clean up when they leave. I appreciate how thorough Peter and his Team are, and more importantly that I can trust that Peter will do exactly what we have agreed upon, and it will be completed in the time frame agreed upon. I have recommended PW Tree services to several of my neighbors, and all are extremely happy with the work that was done- and you will be too ;-)"

"I would highly recommend Kiker’s Tree Service. They were efficient, affordable and polite. I had a total of 6 quotes to get trees trimmed and taken down. Kiker’s Tree Service came out to be much lower in price, then the others. Travis was a pleasure to work with, he made the process easy and comfortable. The staff was professional and communicated through out the day. The team finished a big project in one day. They were all knowledgeable and friendly and they cleaned up perfectly. I even added extra stuff to the project the day of the job. They were very accommodating with reasonable pricing. I would certainly use then again for future projects. You will be total satisfied with the results you will get."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Unless there’s some sort of rule in your community’s homeowners’ association that requires you to remove a stump, there’s no law that says you have to take it out. If you’re not wedded to the idea of removing it, there are plenty of ways to get creative with this tree remnant. Using the stump as the medium for a wood carving or turning it into a planter are just two examples of ways to repurpose a tree stump.

For Bradford pears, damage from storms is common, and if the trunk splits, it can pose a danger to people and surrounding structures. The best thing to do in that instance is to have the tree removed. If there’s only minor damage to the branches, pruning away the damaged parts is the first order of business. You may also want to consult a professional arborist to make sure the tree is healthy.

In most cases, you should not use a pruning seal on trees after trimming. Applying a sealant can interfere with the tree's natural healing process, and it does not guarantee protection from pathogens. Instead of sealing the cut, the best practice is to support the tree's natural recovery by providing it with plenty of water and a dormant-style fertilizer. However, there are exceptions. Pruning seals may be recommended for very vulnerable species, like elm trees, in areas where dangerous diseases such as Dutch elm disease are prevalent. In these specific situations, the protection offered by a sealant can outweigh its downsides. For advice tailored to your situation, especially after cutting large branches, it is best to consult a local tree trimming professional.

Late winter is ideal, but if you’re pruning apple trees in the spring, prune them as early as possible in the season. You want to ensure your tree is just creeping out of dormancy and hasn’t started pushing out new growth. If you prune your tree too late into spring, you generally won’t see results until the following year.

That said, there’s no pruning season for unhealthy growth. Remove dead, dying, or diseased branches as soon as you notice them, regardless of the time of year.

You can use a chainsaw, but it won’t remove the entire stump or root ball and is not a recommended method. It takes quite a bit of physical work to achieve and will likely dull or ruin your chainsaw. Instead, consider using salt, herbicide, light deprivation, boiling water, stump grinding, or burning to kill a tree stump. These methods allow you to kill a stump using minimal machinery and physical exertion.
