"***The workers were very efficient for the tasks they did perform. However, there was an apparent lack of communication as to the scope of the job. When originally discussing this project, I felt I was clear about removing tree limbs and branches directly over our roof. I did not need the trees removed---just those limbs which shed leaves. Yes, they were quite high up BUT I was never told prior to service they would only do 10-15 feet above the roof for clearance. Some of the branches and limbs were above that clearance. While to their credit 2 employees came back a second time to clear a few more branches after I expressed this discrepancy, they did no further work, saying they could go not go any higher and were not allowed to do so. Bottom Line: the branches touching the roof and up to 15 feet above it were removed, we are now $1200 into this project and will still encounter the same shedding problem throughout the year. Some misunderstandings occurred the process and if I as a homeowner was not clear at the onset, I apologize. I do not believe that is the case, however. Thus I left the initial consultation confident that what we needed was clear. If it was not doable or was "too high" , we should have been told that before the original quote."

"I was very satisfied with the response from Travis and the quick timing to get the job done, especially since the tree was down on my neighbor's property.  His men were very polite with my wife and did a great job.

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s possible to overwater a newly-planted tree. Daily watering is great for the first few weeks, but it’s important not to go overboard. Excessive watering can lead to various problems, including root rot, fungal diseases, and a lack of root development.

It’s possible to transplant trees as tall as 50 feet when an experienced tree planting service uses the right equipment. However, a tree with a trunk larger than two or three inches in diameter needs to be handled by a professional in order to yield successful transplanting results. Consulting a tree planting professional is the best way to tell if your large tree can be safely transplanted.

Stay inside or well away until the storm passes. Don’t go outside to inspect the tree until the weather clears, especially if the tree is on a hill or isolated in a field. Lightning often strikes the same easily-accessed places multiple times, and you could be a new target. If a lightning strike causes a noticeable fire, alert emergency services. When the storm is over, take a closer look to gauge the damage done.

According to scientists at Penn State University, spotted lanternflies do not typically kill the trees and plants they feed on, but they can cause branches and segments to die off. However, they have been found to kill cultivated grapes, which can have devastating consequences for vineyard owners and regions that heavily rely on vineyards to create jobs and generate revenue. They have also killed the Ailanthu altissima, known as the tree of heaven, though this is classified as a noxious and invasive weed tree.

Only trim palm trees as needed, which is usually about once per year. However, don't stick to that schedule if the palm tree doesn't need it. Avoid trimming palm trees when possible. It’s best to trim palm trees only when you notice a buildup of dead fronds. That said, leave the brown fronds during the dormant season because this organic matter helps protect the tree from the cooler weather.
