We could not have been happier with the entire process! Eric's quote was in between two others we had for the room last year, but his knowledge really impressed us right off the bat. His window quote was less than that of a national brand. Where Eric's knowledge impressed us, the workmanship and professionalism of John and his crew was even better. The project turned out so nice, a neighbor of ours is also having a similar room built.

I just had a second floor porch enclosed and made into a sunroom and additional work downstairs in another room. Eric (the owner), is extremely knowledgeable and knew exactly what was needed from day one. His process is very thorough leaving no doubt what we wanted was what they delivered. John, our onsite foreman is very skilled a great leader, who provided constant updates. We could not have asked for better support. The entire team did excellent work, organized, attention to detail, and a mastery at knowing how to build soundly and skillfully. Sunview is by far the best company I have ever hired to do remodeling in my home, my room is gorgeous. They were supposed to do flooring, countertops, put in a driveway and garage and they never did. When he got all his money he said that he needed more money to finish the job. I had to spend an extra $20,000 to finish it so I could move into the house. They also put in the cheapest appliances they could find and even installed a used dishwasher. They are lying thiefs.

Our experience with Sunview started off very well but went down hill to the point where lawyers had to get involved. We finally had to end our involvement with Sunview after battling with them for over a month about a banana-shaped chimney, crooked walls and ceilings, improper and incomplete installations of doors and windows, contractor-induced damages to the structure of the house, and just poor workmanship though-out the house. We found out after the fact that the 22 windows installed were not what we contracted for and that the siding did not meet the very clear requirements that were in our construction agreements. Notice that I did not say contract since we were never able to get a signed contract from this contractor. We did however get abusive phone calls and threatening letters from their lawyer. We are now in the process of paying other contractors to complete or repair the work that Sunview was contracted to perform.

"[removed member name] is right the project started off very well. As a matter of fact it went very well throughout the majority of the project. It was not until close to the end of the project that there was any indication that [member name removed] was displeased. The job was inspected by the city of Goose Creek throughout the installations. [member names removed] were shown the windows and siding before they were installed. As the project progressed [member name removed] stated that he loved everything.... the windows, siding the quality workmanship. As a matter of fact he even told the window factory rep. that he loved the windows after the fact. [member name removed] liked the crew and work so much that she gave each of my crew a $25 Visa card. There was a problem with the chimney but it was corrected by my crew. It was not until the job was 99% complete that [member name removed] started acting differently towards me and my crew. I asked him if there was an issue but he would not respond. [member name removed] stopped returning my calls, emails and texts. I stopped by [member name removed] house to try and speak with him but he was not home. [member name removed] let me in and we talk about the remaining punch list and made arraignments for my crew to return on the following Monday to finish the punch list. My crew arrived as scheduled and set up there tools. As they started to work [member name removed] came down stairs yelling and cursing. He told my crew to leave and that he would let me know when they could return. I tried to contact [member name removed] again and again but to no avail. At this point there was no other choice but to get my attorney involved. There is nothing that I would rather have happened than for Sunview to have completed the project, Shake [member name removed] hand and leave on a good note. I still to this day do not know why [member name removed] broke all contact with me. I have a feeling it may have something to do with the over Eight Thousand dollars he still owes Sunview General Contracting Inc. Eric Molton; President"

I really hate to make a negative statement. We like our addition but were very disappointed in having to contact the BBB to get the contractor to do repairs after he was paid. The painter and the HVAC company that were retained were less than adequate to do the job.

I had previous dealings with Sunview Contractors and at that time was not very pleased but was having problems after a heavy rain with water leaking into a couple of places into the room. I called Eric (on a Sunday afternoon) and he agreed to come out and see if he could determine the problem, we set a time and date at that time. On Wednesday he arrived, looked over the entire area and noted that the flashing between the building and the wall was somewhat bowed out, he reset the flashing and resealed the area. He also set up a time for his job supervisor to come out and install gutter covers for the gutters after he had cleared them out. And he also cleaned my skylights - all at no charge to me for this visit. He estimated the cost of the covers for the gutters would low and promised me he would call to let me know when they would be out to install them. I was much more impressed with his professionalism and commitment to quality service than I was 2 years ago. I would call this "new, improved" Sunview Contractors again.

It took much longer than we had anticipated or been told it would. The Sunview crew were GREAT. They worked hard and did really quality work. But once the project started to become more complex, it seemed to fall into stall mode. There were periods of frustration due to mis-communication and sub-contractors who didn't show up or who were not 100% sure of the over all plan. Occasionally one sub-contractor would un-do another's work. They were all very well qualified, but stupid things happened that cost us time. There needed to be better leadership and orchestration throughout the project. Although I would use Sunview again....I am very happy with the end product.....I would be more vocal in the management of the project, takes notes at every meeting and be sure that the general contractor and I had common copies for reference. It was a learning process for all of us.
After we passed final inspection and the in-laws moved in, a water leak in the wall that compromised the floor was discovered. Sunview was prompt in calling us back and the plumber stepped in and took full responsibility. Plumb Pro fixed it to our total satisfaction.

We discussed several points that we wanted to be done which he assured us would be done. Foremost along them was leveling the slap where the sunroon would be built. After several delays, we came to the conclusion that the promise of 4-5 working days meant 1 day a week for 4-5 weeks. The subcontractors he had come in for various phases of the process were far more professional than the general contractor...when they said they would be there, they were and did a great job. To date, I still have leakage along the inside wall during hard rains. At first, we thought that it was the gutter, but even after having the gutters cleaned, we periodically have water running between the addition and the brick outer wall of the house.

"Customer was impossible to get in touch with and never home. If customer does not communicate with the contractor its hard to take care of any concerns that may arise. All the extras that the customer wanted done she did not want to pay for them. The contracted job was done very professional and completed to there satifaction. I have since spoke to the customer they said they loved the Sunroom and everything was great. They have a BEAUTIFUL Sunroom...."
