"I needed to remove two Raywood Ash trees and replace them with Crepe Myrtles. Professional Tree Service made the whole process very pleasant and straightforward. I can't imagine how the job could have been done any better. They were so easy to work with. Great expertise. Great attitude and passion for the profession. Friendly. It was a joy to work with them. I'd assign more than five stars if it were possible."

"Went above and beyond to help us. Would definitely use again. As an arborist, their goal was to save healthy trees while removing only those which needed to come down. They saved the trees I thought I had lost. I highly recommend AAA Tree Experts. It was an exceptional experience."

"This team exceeded my expectations. They were very professional, I had 2 very large challenging trees close to my house. They worked together and finished way before they had expected to do. They cleaned up every piece of trash from the falling trees. They are so very pleasant , I could not ask for better business than these guys. Their prices were very reasonable compared to many other quotes I had gotten. I highly recommend Bear Tree Care and Landscaping."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Unfortunately, palm tree stumps are one of the most difficult types to remove due to how their roots grow. Unlike other trees, palm tree roots grow horizontally and vertically. Palm tree roots grow as deep as three feet into the ground, although soil and growing conditions could mean they go as far as 50 inches into the earth.

If you want to be able to repurpose the grass in the area where you removed a stump later, you’ll have to dig quite deep—and perhaps wide—to trim away all the roots.

Any cutting of tree roots can hurt or kill a tree, which is why it's recommended you don’t do it unless the roots are damaging or invasive on a nearby structure like your home. You should never cut more than 15 percent of above-ground tree roots at one time. If you have any questions about cutting tree roots, contact your local arborist.

It depends. Smaller, younger trees take longer to mature, but they're more resilient, their roots don't get as damaged during transplanting, and they recover faster. Plus, they're much more affordable to plant, and it's possible to DIY the planting.

On the other hand, mature trees produce fruit faster and provide more shade and privacy immediately. Ideally, a small or medium tree is the better choice if you can wait a few years for it to mature. But if you need immediate maturity, a larger tree is the only option.

A tree branch should start to form roots in about three months. It can take about a year for a tree branch to develop roots strong enough to go in the ground. For best results, start several branches because, no matter how closely you follow instructions, they won’t all form roots. Compost any that aren’t thriving.

The ideal time to prune a tree depends on the type of tree. Typically, late winter or early spring is a good time to prune but isn't always the case for "towering trees." It's best to trim when trees are dormant and before blooms appear but can vary depending on the tree type. It's always best to research the type of tree or ask a professional tree trimmer to determine when is the perfect time to prune your tree.
