"I will start by saying that the work they did waterproofing our basement looks good, and I am hopeful that it has fixed our problem. We've had a good bit of rain recently, and so far, so good. That, of course, is the most important thing. That said, I chose this company, even though they were on the high range of the quotes I received, because I did not mind paying more for a professional experience and great customer service. I was disappointed with this aspect of the experience. The day they were scheduled to begin they never showed up, and I ended up calling them three times that day. The woman in the office was responsive, but she said that they did not know where they were. The next scheduled appointment was for the morning, and they did not end up coming until 2pm, again without any communication. Both instances were due to car issues, but a phone call to keep me updated would have been appreciated to allow me to better plan my day. When they did start the work the crew leader was friendly and appeared to know what he was doing, but he offered little information about the job unless I asked. Prior to the work being done, I also had to keep after the sales representative to put their warranty in writing. Twice he promised to email it to me, and only after contacting him a third time did he send it through. If I had not paid so much (over $11,000) I would have given them another star, but at this price point my expectations were high."

"The sales rep was very personable and seemed to have knowledge of drainage problems and solutions. The workers arrived on schedule and worked very hard to accomplish the task at hand. They routed the drainage to an open ditch parallel to the property. They also rerouted drainage for an existing, inefficient french drain and sump that was pumping water across the driveway that was washing the soil out from under the concrete and creating an unsightly stain. To this point, we felt that all was going well. The problem that arose was that the French drain they installed was still higher than the foundation of the house. They filled in the trench with gravel to facilitate drainage, but covered the gravel with the soil they removed, which is mostly clay. Consequently, the water still runs off across the top of the French drain and overwhelms the foundation. Moisture in the crawl space has not been significantly reduced. I talked to the rep about redoing the crawl space which had mold forming on the floor joists. He gave me a quote that included sealing all the vents, cleaning the mold, adjusting pitch of the interior perimeter French drain, relocating the crawl sump and pump to a better collection point, putting down new vapor barrier and installing a crawl space dehumidifier, ($1,500.00) at a total cost of $4,290.00. If we wanted mold remediation treatment in addition to just cleaning the mold, the cost was an additional $1,950.00. The rep also agreed to send a team back out to remove the top layer of soil from the French drain and fill the trench with gravel, build up the soil at the foundation, making the new French drain at a level lower than the foundation to contain the water, at no additional charge. Subsequent to all that, we discovered some major structural damage that was going to be costly. Alignment of priorities and available finances dictated that the crawl space would have to be put on hold, at least temporarily. I sent an email to the Moisture Loc rep explaining our dilemma, but reiterated that I still expected him to live up to his promise to fix the French drain deficiencies, for which I already paid handsomely. In spite of email, text messages and voice mail to the rep, I have never received the courtesy of a response. I can only conclude that since we had to suspend the crawl space work, there is no intention to make the necessary changes/repairs to the original work as promised.

Accu-Dry had excellent references, so we asked Tim for an estimate. He came the next day, and recommended an interior French drain with adequate drainage to the outside. Not only did his crew install the interior drain, they removed the aforementioned ridiculous perimeter bricks and helped us remove a lot of the damaged walls. They also lined the walls with a membrane to prevent any more wall seepage. They installed an extensive drainage system outside and connected the interior French drain and the roof gutter downspouts to it the outside sewer. They meticulously replaced bricks from the back patio that had to be moved for the installation. They installed a cement curb on the side of the driveway to lead rainwater to the drainage system. They cleaned up as much as possible every evening. This was all accomplished in approximately one week.

Tim's crew was prompt, worked extremely hard, and were polite, clean-cut and professional.  Since they completed the work we have had storms with heavy downpours, and the basement floor has stayed completely dry. We are extremely pleased with the work and highly recommend his company to anyone with a wet lower level or basement.

"The Moore brothers were great. They satisfied my Home Owners' Association with a detailed proposal within an hour of inspecting the job. They itemized and described the work, which included cleaning off the mold, replacing insulation, repairing joists, encapsulating the crawlspace, and creating a French Drain on the exterior of my unit to redirect the rain. They also set up my dehumidifier in the space with a wireless meter I can read from inside . Their price was in line and they did everything they promised in good order, good humor, and respect. "Our home was built in 1968 and has a very, very small crawl space. Prior to purchasing in 2014, there was a high moisture content noted by a home inspector and on the CL-100 that was not mitigated correctly by the previous owner. After moving in and recognizing there was still an issue, we had Clemson Extension come and inspect our crawl space, as well as three other basement/foundation companies. None of the other inspections were as thorough or complete as the one we got from Paul at Crawl Space Medic. Not only was he able to more thoroughly diagnose our issues under the house (which were many), but he explained the steps for mitigation, never tried to sell us anything that we did not need, and worked with us as each issue arose. First, the Crawl Space Medic crew had to excavate the entire crawl space of our home, which they did in the worst cold snap of the year. Regardless of the horrible working conditions, they were there early, stayed late, were respectful of our home at all times, and stayed on schedule despite the hardships of weather. Once the excavation was done and the full extent of the damages we were facing was assessed, we worked with Jon and Paul on developing the best game plan to repair the damage to our foundation and mitigating our moisture control issues. In fact, the french drain/sump pump was a line item on our estimate until they were 100% sure that it was needed. When the french drain was installed, they made sure that it drains inconspicuously and does not flood our landscaping every time it rains, which is a truly professional installation. Once we began work on the major repairs to the house, which included tearing the floor out of a bathroom for much of their project, they made sure our house was kept neat, that we were not inconvenienced as home owners, and that our repairs were done correctly and thoroughly. Every day, they let me know when they would arrive and when they left, and also let me know what time to expect them the next morning. Since we had to essentially replace an entire bathroom, they coordinated with our schedule and with our contractor on scheduling their portion of the work with the rest of our renovation. They made what could have been a horrible experience much easier! 

I would not have anyone else handle my foundation and crawl space repairs. We have had other contractors under the house, and we have gone under the house, since Crawl Space Medic's crew completed their work and everyone is impressed with the quality of the repairs. This was an extremely difficult job which they did beyond all expectations. In addition, after having other similar contractors come out and try to sell me on systems that we don't need and on remedies that would not work, Crawl Space addressed the elements of our problem individually, didn't try to sell me on anything we did not need, and went above and beyond on the quality of their repair. Other contractors simply marry new wood to existing to repair foundations - Crawl Space Medic actually removed all the damaged materials and put in new materials under our house.
